Description
Principal Function: The Camp Photographer takes digital photographs of camp activities, group photos, and individual camp participants; organize and maintain digital files. Works with camp leadership in order to collaborate with marketing staff to maintain the camp photo website (using Adobe Photoshop/Lightroom to edit photos).

Supervisory Responsibilities: This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
Schedule and Hours: The standard hours for this position are Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm. Staff training begins on May 19th, 2025, and camp begins on May 27th, 2025. The last day of camp is August 3rd, 2025. Staff must be able to attend staff training week and at least eight of the ten weeks of camp. This description is for general illustrative purposes and is not a guarantee of available work hours.
Compensation: This is a full-time, seasonal position that is eligible for approved overtime. Benefits are not provided. Pay for this position starts at $14.00 per hour.

The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate.
Conner Prairie is generally open from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Tuesday through Sunday, this position will be required to work beyond these hours and when open for special events.

Description

- Summer Camp Photographer, 40hrs/week, May 19-Aug 3, $14.00/hr
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Duties include, but are not limited to:
- Captures and edits high quality images of campers and staff engaged in camp activities.
- Maintains awareness of camp schedules and happenings to ensure all activities and campers are covered throughout the week.
- Keeps photos organized and readily accessible to Conner Prairie Marketing team and other departments.
- Posts photos to online platform to make them available for purchase by parents and guardians.
- Performs Camp Counselor functions as needed to ensure program operation. This may include leading youth in activities such as swimming and canoeing, arts and crafts, archery, hiking, and biking.
- Implements an approved, weekly program schedule for assigned campers and assists all campers with special needs as outlined by the American Disabilities Act (ADA) requirements.
- Checks and maintains camp facilities and equipment and communicates supply needs to the Camp Director.
- Communicates with campers' parents and/or guardians in a courteous and professional manner.
- Responds as needed to any medical/emergency needs of campers and staff.
- Participates in pre-season trainings and helps with end of season clean-up.
Education and/or Experience:
- Must be 18 years of age or a graduate of high school.
- High school diploma is required. At least one semester of college is desired.
- Experience in childcare is desired.
- Must be willing to adapt to new experiences.
- Must be able to maintain high professional standards of Conner Prairie.
- Must have fun, friendly and patient personality.
- Must be able to work independently.
- Knowledge and experience in digital photography is required, including landscapes, portraits, and sports/action photography is required. Experience photographing children is desired.
- Knowledge of digital photo websites is desired.
- Knowledge of Adobe Photoshop/Lightroom is desired.
