PR and Integrated Communications Director 

Idea Hall, an award-winning, creative communications agency based in Orange County, California, is seeking a motivated and experienced full time Director of Public Relations and Integrated Communications to join our hybrid, collaborative team of marketing, communications and creative professionals. If you have a deep understanding of the real estate ecosystem –architecture, interior design, engineering, construction, finance, fintech, etc. with heavy emphasis on commercial real estate and are passionate about building strong relationships with clients while delivering outstanding results, let’s connect!

In this role, you will lead a portfolio of business and support agency growth through new business development and organic client growth. In addition to cultivating great partnerships and relationships with our client and vendor teams, you will serve as an active, engaged and compassionate mentor, coach and manager to team members within the agency. 


The ideal candidate will have B2B and B2C PR, community outreach and integrated communications experience, a strategic and service-oriented mindset, and outstanding communication skills. The Director will foster relationships with clients and develop and implement ongoing marketing and communications programs that exceed expectations and create raving fans.

Key Responsibilities - PR and Integrated Communications Director

Lead several CRE/AEC ecosystem clients with the potential to also lead healthcare, nonprofit and public agency clients and teams, serving as industry expert to ensure consistent excellence of work and client service experience. 

  • Build existing client business through developing a deep and thorough understanding of each client’s unique goals and business models and proactively identifying and pitching new, strategically-aligned program opportunities.
  • Excellent, diligent financial stewardship.
  • Maintaining excellent, proactive client service experience. 
  • Developing written materials such as bylines, interview Q&As, strategic plans, recap reports. 
  • Mentoring and coaching; contributing to the professional development of team members. 
  • Driving the PR/communications strategy and implementation for clients. 
  • Ensuring excellent measurement and remerchandising of work showing the ROI and optimizing program elements based on measurement all throughout the year. 
  • Develop strategies to create a national presence in CRE for the agency.
  • Support agency growth through active engagement in the CRE/AEC/Capital Markets and homebuilder ecosystems, as well as Orange County and PR/Marketing industry events including in-person networking events and new business meetings. 
  • Support new business outreach by cultivating referrals and working collaboratively to pitch new business opportunities.
  • Develop new agency offerings that anticipate clients’ future needs.
  • Actively contribute to the overall growth and health of Idea Hall and our team members through identifying and attracting top talent to the agency.

Qualifications - PR and Integrated Communications Director

  • 8+ years of public relations and integrated communications experience.
  • Agency experience is required. 
  • Strong enthusiasm for CRE/AEC ecosystem clients and leading a team.
  • Strong strategic thinking and excellent writing skills 
  • Proven track record of successful strategic plan development and implementation with measurable program results
  • Proven track record of building strong relationships with clients, colleagues, the media and other constituents, including mentoring and leading junior teammates
  • Solutions-oriented leader and cross-collaborator, we operate as one team.
  • Lead by example to embody Idea Hall’s values of one team, relationships, leadership, hustle & grit, growth mindset, and make an impact.
  • Expertise in CRE-focused PR, marketing, digital offerings, and content creation.
  • Highly skilled in all aspects of account management and team leadership, including customer-focused service, proposal writing, budget planning, verbal and written presentations and coaching/mentoring.
  • Business acumen for making sound business decisions that contribute to the overall health of the agency, including financial stewardship experience in client billing, agency financial management, recognizing revenue, scoping new projects accurately and more.
  • Successful track record in award-winning PR and integrated communication programs.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field (or convince us it's relevant).
  • APR and other marketing or project management certifications are a plus.
  • EOS experience is a plus.
  • Requirement: Ability to work onsite in our beautiful Costa Mesa Office Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and available for an additional 15% of your time to visit clients and attend events in the area (sometimes in evenings).
