Position Summary
Responsible for assisting with the management of brand and resort programs as they relate to public and community relations. Coordinates property perception through media releases, public outreach, and social engagement.
Essential Functions
- Coordinate and monitor all community and sponsorship programs associated with Chinook Winds Casino Resort.
- Represent Chinook Winds Casino Resort at tribal, governmental, public, and private events as well as at agencies, boards, committees, commissions. Serve on committees as needed.
- Support the PR Manager with media relations, events, and blogger/influencer relations efforts as well as internal communications.
- Identify co-operative partnership opportunities to leverage and maximize community relations and PR.
- Write engaging marketing materials, internal, tribal, and community newsletters and/or social media outlets for designated CWCR endeavors.
- Create and fulfill opportunities for public speaking to educate and inform the public of the goals and objectives of Chinook Winds Casino Resort.
- Work with Chinook Winds departments and the Siletz Tribe to create and develop displays and/or exhibits for local and regional events on Tribal and Casino projects and accomplishments.
- Assist in managing charitable and social service organization requests and responses.
- Create, develop, and issue a quarterly statistical report to include participation, involvement, and community donations.
- Participates in the preparation and planning of the department budget, monitoring monthly P&Ls, and contributing to the overall annual fiscal objectives.
- Responsible for staying up to date on property information and resort offerings.
- Manages Chinook Winds property information on all external sites.
- Participates in the documentation of property events such as concerts, promotions, and various other events.
- Assists in online dialogue with Chinook Winds Casino Resort social community.
- Coordinate multiple projects simultaneously, setting own priorities to ensure timely completion.
- Assists at property special events as needed.
- Assists with events to include ushering, setup, breakdown, and item distribution.
- Other duties as assigned.

Education
High School Diploma or GED.
Associates Degree in Marketing, Communication or related field required.
BA in Marketing, Communications, or related field preferred
Experience
Two years of experience in business or journalistic writing. Must provide samples.
Must be competent and proficient with a variety of industry concepts, practices, and procedures in relation to all media outlets including newspaper, radio, TV, blogs, public speaking, and social media.
Must have demonstrated social media experience, ideally in a hospitality environment. Must provide samples.
Computer Skills
Microsoft Office intermediate level in Microsoft Word, Excel, Publisher, and Outlook.
Adobe Photoshop experience.
Public Relations Skills
Photography, content editing, and public speaking.
Certificates & Licenses
Must obtain a Siletz Tribal Gaming License.
Valid Driver’s License.
Must obtain OLCC.
Must obtain Food Handlers Card.
Other Requirements
Must possess a high level of business professionalism.
Must be willing to work holidays, nights, weekends, and variant schedules to accommodate department demands.
Understanding of social networking best practices, trends, and etiquette.
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

Work Environment
Work will take place in a small office environment with occasional exposure to a busy resort and gaming environment with multiple distractions. The environment is subject to smoke and the associated affects. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate. This position requires ability to work in various settings such as Fairs, Trade Shows and other high traffic events representing Chinook Winds Casino Resort.
Working Conditions
Conditions of employment include passing a pre-employment drug screen, a background investigation, and completing a 180-day introductory period.
