Radio Frequency Microwave Design Engineer 3

Chipton-Ross is seeking a Radio Frequency Microwave Design Engineer 3 for a contract opportunity in Baltimore, MD.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Design, develop, and implement testing methods and equipment
  2. Troubleshoot and support RF and digital hardware
  3. Support First Time Through Test Yield (FTTTY) and hardware deliveries
  4. Analyze test data and identify early trends
  5. Compile data and define changes required in testing equipment, testing procedures, manufacturing processes, or new testing requirements
  6. Collaborate with design engineering to develop and implement hardware improvements and solutions
  7. Support technicians through troubleshooting and training
  8. Monitor product yields and aggressively work to maintain program yield targets
  9. Support program meetings in developing root cause and corrective actions
  10. Attend program meetings to report yield issues, yield detractor investigation findings, and corrective actions
  11. Interface with manufacturing management, test technicians, production engineers, design engineers, system engineers, program management, and program support teams

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:

The successful candidate will have a working knowledge of RF theory and concepts; and a working knowledge of digital circuit design. They will have analytical skills to review requirements, test plans, and test scenarios; and the ability to effectively communicate across teams. They should be self-directed, organized, team-oriented, and have previous experience with MS Office tools.

This position may be filled as either an RF Test and Development Engineer or a Principal RF Test and Development Engineer.

RF Test and Development Engineer:

  1. Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related STEM field plus 2 years of relevant experience; or a Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or related STEM field plus 0 years of experience.
  2. Ability to read and interpret specifications, schematics, and block diagrams
  3. Experience with RF hardware and software
  4. Experience with RF test equipment, such as scopes, power meter, spectrum analyzer, signal generator

Principal RF Test and Development Engineer:

  1. Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related STEM field plus 5 years of relevant experience; or a Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or related STEM field plus 3 years of relevant experience.
  2. Ability to read and interpret specifications, schematics, and block diagrams
  3. Experience with RF hardware and software
  4. Experience with RF test equipment, such as scopes, power meter, spectrum analyzer, signal generator

PREFERRED:

  1. Advanced degree in Engineering or related STEM discipline
  2. Ability to work with minimal direction and guidance
  3. Experience with FPGA
  4. Experience with LabWindows CVI, C / C++ programming
  5. TestStand programming
  6. Proficiency with digital, analog, RF test equipment, RF theory, and high-speed digital.
  7. Familiarity with differential digital interfaces like LVDS
  8. PXI/PXIe and VME bus experience
  9. Hands-on troubleshooting of electrical hardware

Bachelor's Degree. See requirements. School must be accredited.

HOURS:

9/80 work week.
