Job Summary/Description:

WBKO has a need for an MMJ/reporter who loves telling stories, cultivating sources, and covering breaking news in a fast-paced environment. MMJ must be able to shoot, write, and edit stories on-air and online daily, must want to turn lead stories, and must understand and incorporate social media material into their workflow. We're seeking a team player who is eager to learn and grow in the broadcasting field. All team members are required to work under tight deadlines on a flexible schedule that includes weekends, evenings, and holidays.

Duties/Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

•Ability to meet deadlines
•Must have excellent verbal and written skills
•Strong research skills, ability to employ critical thinking skills to dig and go "beyond the press release" and/or confirm incoming news tips via email or social media
•Must be able to work individually, and/or in a group setting
•Must be trained to produce
•Appear on-air and coordinate live shots
•Potential and drive to fill-in anchor, when needed

Qualifications/Requirements:

•Bachelor`s Degree in Broadcast Journalism or equivalent is required
•Ability to work long hours/overtime, weekends, and overnights as needed for breaking news and specialized coverage
•Must be able to carry 35+ pounds of gear
•Knowledge of AP Style, ENPS newsroom systems and Edius editing systems preferable
•A valid driver`s license is required
•MVR Check is required
