Over the past 223 years, The Post has evolved into a multi-platform media company spanning print, digital, video, audio, app, television, and commerce.
The New York Post is seeking a knowledgeable part-time reporter to join our entertainment digital team. We are looking for someone who loves all things entertainment and can think strategically, collaborate effectively, and thrive in a fast-paced breaking news environment.
Note: This role is 3 days a week (Monday and Friday are a must) and the shift is 2 pm - 10 pm EST.

Responsibilities:
- Generate and craft 7-8 SEO-optimized digital news stories related to pop culture, leveraging expertise in TV, film, music, and celebrity content to produce high-quality, engaging pieces with clean and compelling copy while meeting stringent deadlines
- Strategically analyze the daily entertainment news cycle and trending topics to identify relevant and engaging story angles and pitch stories
- Collaborate seamlessly with various departments, including social media, video, and photo, to enhance daily news coverage and present stories effectively across different platforms
- Demonstrate initiative and self-motivation by making informed decisions and working independently in a fast-paced news environment
- Remain adaptable and ready to juggle multiple tasks, contributing to the overall quality and success of the content produced
- At least 3-5 years of experience in entertainment and breaking news, with a strong portfolio of published articles covering TV, film, music and celebrity content on a digital platform
- Capability to craft concise, attention-grabbing headlines and produce polished, publication-ready content.
- Demonstrated exceptional news judgment, as well as outstanding writing and reporting abilities
- Proficiency in time management and multitasking, with the ability to handle multiple deadlines effectively
- Deep understanding of SEO principles and the ability to optimize content accordingly
- Knowledge of traffic analytics tools such as Google Analytics and Parse.ly, and an understanding of how to utilize them effectively
- Strong knowledge of the entertainment industry, including current trends and key players. (Bonus points for existing relationships with industry representatives and sources.)
- Experience with content management systems, particularly WordPress, as well as proficiency in photo editing software
- Flexibility in covering live pop culture events (i.e. Oscars, Golden Globes, etc.) and working outside traditional business hours when needed
- Excellent on-camera presence and comfortability in front of the camera is a plus
