As a SEO Manager, you will take ownership of driving the growth and performance of our clients' SEO programs, always ensuring that data-driven insights and strategic opportunities are at the forefront of your decision making. You will be client facing, effectively communicating SEO strategies, while also rolling up your sleeves to actively manage the tactical execution of each program. In this role, you will support a team of SEO specialists, providing mentorship and guidance, and are expected to foster a culture of high performance, innovation, and collaboration.

Responsibilities:

         Strategy and Execution:

●      Drive Client Growth: Lead and manage the growth of your clients' SEO programs through detailed audits, strategies, and execution of proven SEO tactics.

●      Client Strategy Leadership: Serve as the strategic lead for your clients, guiding them toward their goals with a balance of data-driven decision-making, creativity, and innovative SEO approaches.

●      Trend Analysis & Adaptation: Monitor SEO trends and marketplace shifts, translating these into actionable insights to continuously refine client strategies.

●      Link Building & Vendor Management: Develop robust link-building strategies and manage relationships with outsourced vendors to execute these initiatives effectively.

●      Technical SEO Expertise: Provide technical SEO guidance, ensuring all plans take into account platform specific nuances (e.g., Magento, Shopify, Wordpress). Address common issues like site speed, URL structure, content duplication, crawling, accessibility, and readability.

         Process Management:

●      Project & Task Management: Effectively manage multiple projects, prioritizing tasks based on your client needs and ensuring timely delivery of SEO initiatives.

●      Project Planning & Execution: Develop, maintain, and adjust project plans for each client, ensuring all SEO initiatives are delivered on time and align with client objectives.

●      Deliverable Creation: Develop high quality, well structured deliverables and presentations that clearly communicate SEO strategies, performance, and opportunities to clients and internal teams.

         Reporting and Analysis:

●      Reporting: Identify key program KPIs, and deliver clear, insightful reports on SEO performance, progress, and opportunities for improvement across client programs.

●      SEO Tool Expertise: Leverage SEO tools such as Moz, ScreamingFrog, SEMRush, ClearScope and others to perform in-depth analysis and ensure optimization across all programs.

         Client Communication and Relationship Management:

●      Client-Facing Communication: Regularly engage with clients, effectively communicating SEO strategies, progress, and results.

●      Business Development Support: Provide SEO insights and strategies to support business development efforts, helping to expand existing client relationships and win new business.

●      Stakeholder Communication: Regularly communicate with Senior Marketing Directors and other key stakeholders, managing expectations and adjusting strategies as necessary.

         Team Leadership and Collaboration:

●      Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with other teams, including Strategy, UX, Design, Analytics, Media, and Technology, to ensure SEO is integrated into broader marketing efforts.

●      Team Collaboration & Culture: Foster a collaborative, team-oriented environment, supporting colleagues and maintaining a culture of mutual respect and open communication.

         Continuous Improvement and Knowledge Sharing:

●      Strategic Contribution: Offer critical thinking and strategic recommendations during cross functional client meetings, ensuring SEO is positioned as a key driver of success.

●      Knowledge Sharing: Contribute to the agency's collective knowledge base, staying at the forefront of SEO trends and educating others on complementary channels.

Desired Qualifications:

●      Minimum of 4+ years within a digital agency environment within a SEO department role,

●      Experienced in driving SEO programs across different stages, from early stage brands to established enterprise level clients.

●      Proven experience in developing SEO strategies that blend Content, Technical and Offsite to drive organic search performance for your clients.

●      Deep understanding of ecommerce SEO strategies.

●      Experience across various platforms like Magento, Shopify, and WordPress.

●      Proven ability to explain complex SEO strategies in simple terms, supported by data.

●      Familiarity with enterprise SEO tools (e.g., Moz, SEMRush, ScreamingFrog, ClearScope)

●      Experience with Google Analytics for data extraction and performance analysis

●      Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams

●      Experience pitching and developing comprehensive SEO audits that identify gaps and opportunities.

Compensation Disclaimer:

Compensation Range: $70,000 - $90,000 annually. Actual compensation is based on multiple factors that are unique to each candidate, including and not limited to job-related knowledge, level of relevant experience, education, skills and geographic location (to account for comparative cost of living). 85SIXTY reserves the right to modify this pay range at any time.
