We are looking for a new Senior SEO Manager to join our growing team at Wpromote! Our ideal candidate will have a passion for establishing strong relationships with their clients (3-6), a natural curiosity for website optimization, and a knack for being proactive in pursuing growth opportunities for their book of business. The anticipated annual salary for this role will range from $65,000 – $85,000, based on consideration of a wide array of factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, years and depth of experience, education and certifications, competitive benchmarks, scope of responsibility, market dynamics, geographic location, and respective state’s salary threshold for exempt employees. The total compensation package for this role will include benefits (listed above) and an annual performance bonus.

This role has an associated annual target bonus component which is paid out based on a number of factors which include Company performance, department performance, and individual performance. Bonuses are not guaranteed and you must be an active employee in good standing and not on a Performance Improvement Plan to be eligible for the annual bonus.

This position may be performed remotely in most states within the US, with some exclusions.

While this role offers the flexibility to work remotely, we have office hubs in Los Angeles, Chicago, and New York, where you can join in on learning and development opportunities, fun events, take advantage of a space to work, and collaborate in person!

You Will Be

  • Working on multiple client websites by implementing changes to various aspects in order to comply with Google’s best practices and attain client website goals.
  • Expected to retain existing business, while pursuing profitable growth opportunities in assigned clients accounts, both in SEO investments and cross-channel upsells.
  • Communicating regularly with clients to discuss goals and deliver results.
  • Utilizing business acumen to work closely with client teams to identify and fully understand business needs, campaign performance objectives, and opportunities to grow the relationship and client investments.
  • Strategizing with team members to come up with creative solutions for our clients.
  • Identifying critical client/account issues and escalating them to appropriate executives in a timely manner.
  • Keeping up with the SEO industry through blogs, publishers, competitive research, etc.
  • Creating reports to gauge progress and inform the client of the value being provided.
  • Presenting your findings to the client in order to influence their onsite content strategy.
  • Leading the sales process and partnering with others as appropriate to assist in solution development and proposal delivery.
  • Working with a client’s development team to implement changes to their website or on your own with approval from the client.
  • Guiding and mentoring junior staff where necessary and consistently serving the department as a role model for the junior staff on the team.

You Must Have

  • 4+ years experience doing SEO work for clients within an agency environment.
  • 1-2 years client facing experience.
  • Experience with local SEO and Ecommerce SEO.
  • Desire to lead strategy for multiple large growth SEO clients.
  • Understand the basics of SEO such as keyword research & website architecture.
  • Familiar with Google Analytics, and grasp the basics of content marketing.
  • Experience with keyword research/data mining tools and competitive analysis.
  • Google Apps (Docs, Sheets, Slides) and Internet proficiency are required.
  • Experience working directly on websites (general knowledge of CMS such as WordPress, Shopify, or Magento is a plus).
  • Ability to quickly pick up new skills and learn new tasks.
  • Proven track record of successful project management and multi-tasking skills with the ability to hit and exceed deadlines required.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral while paying close attention to detail.
  • A proactive approach to collaborating with others and managing workload.
