In your role as the Studio Principal for our Retail Studio, located in Tyson's Corner, you'll lead a dynamic team focused on a diverse range of projects. You'll collaborate closely with national retail clients, assisting with everything from brainstorming and design execution to seamless rollouts. Our clientele spans various market sectors, including retail banking, wellness, automotive, and food retail. If you have a background in hospitality, we see this as a valuable asset for our future growth.

To succeed in this role, you should possess:
- A creative retail background: You're well-versed in the world of retail, understanding the importance of speed-to-market, prototype design/management, and the intricacies of corporate retail clients. You bring a wealth of experience in commercial retail and retail store design.
- A deep understanding of the retail development process and terminology: You're a recognized thought leader, or you aspire to become one, in the realm of retail architecture and design.
- Established relationships and contacts: Your network extends into the hospitality, retail and developer markets, backed by proven business relationships and/or development expertise.
- Exceptional leadership qualities: You're an empathetic and attentive listener, genuinely interested in people, with the ability to build strong connections among teammates and clients, offering motivation and support.
- Outstanding communication skills: Whether you're speaking or writing, your ideas are clear, and your problem-solving skills shine through.
- A passion for nurturing talent: Your team feels your genuine concern for their growth and development; you're invested in their careers and always ready with resources.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Professional Registration or Certification in your discipline (e.g., AIA or NCIDQ).
- 10 years of experience in the architecture and design industry, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
- Extensive experience in all aspects of retail, with a preference for national, multi-unit rollout/program retail, and a strong work ethic.
- Experience as an account or client/project manager, responsible for the financial management of an account or body of work.
