Position Overview Salary range:
The posted UC academic salary scales set the minimum pay at appointment. A reasonable estimate for Lecturer positions is $76,861-$203,860.
Percent time:
Positions range from 16.5% and up for one or two semesters.
Anticipated start:
Positions typically start at the beginning of the semester (August 1st for Fall Semester; January 1st for Spring Semester), and appointments may be renewable based on the Program's need, funding, and lecturer performance.

Position Description The Department of Architecture at UC Berkeley invites applications for a pool of qualified lecturers to teach design studios should an opening arise. Screening of applicants is ongoing and will continue as needed. The number of positions varies from semester to semester (fall, spring, and summer), depending upon the needs of the Architecture department.
General Duties: In addition to teaching responsibilities, general duties include holding office hours, assigning grades, advising students, preparing course materials (e.g., syllabus), and using Cal's electronic resources for course management.
Qualifications Basic qualifications (required at time of application)
Applicants must hold a bachelor's degree, or equivalent international degree at time of application.
Additional qualifications (required at time of start)
For those who are not US citizens or permanent residents, a legal permit that allows work in the United States (such as a US visa that allows employment) is required by the start date of the position. The department is unable to provide a visa/work permit.
Preferred qualifications
Professional Architecture Degree (either an M.Arch or a B.Arch from an Accredited Architecture program, or equivalent international degree) at time of application.
Experience teaching college level courses.
