Job Description
LOCATION: Remote
REPORTS TO: VP of Technology
KEY RELATIONSHIPS AND TEAM: The Technical Writer will work collaboratively and rely heavily on effective communication with both internal and external stakeholders along with the VP of Technology, ensuring technical content is accurate, clear, and user-focused.
THE OPPORTUNITY: The Technical Writer will create, maintain, and enhance technical documentation that meets the needs of our internal and external engineers to communicate complex technical information clearly and effectively. Collaborating with cross-functional teams to produce high-quality content that clearly communicates complex technical information.
Specifically, the Technical Writer will have responsibility to:
- Write, update, and maintain technical documentation for internal use by software engineers.
- Complete, accurate, and well-maintained documentation for end user, functional consumers of our products.
- Write release notes for end of sprint delivery, to allow for clear and accurate communication for broad use of features, functionality, bug remediation, and tracking information delivered by technology teams per sprint.
- Create visuals and diagrams of system flows, architecture components and more to allow for complete and accurate internal use by the engineering team.
- Work closely with software developers, product managers, QA engineers, and other stakeholders to gather information, clarify technical details, and ensure accuracy in documentation.
- Adapt complex technical content for diverse audiences, ensuring documentation is accessible and user-friendly for both technical and non-technical users.
- Stay informed about industry trends, technologies, and best practices in technical writing and documentation, applying this knowledge to improve documentation processes.
- Collect and incorporate feedback from users and stakeholders to continuously enhance documentation quality and relevance.
- Other duties as assigned.
Professional Qualifications:
The following knowledge, skills, education, and experiences are required:
- Bachelor’s degree in English, Communications, Computer Science or a related field OR minimum of 3+ years of experience as a Technical Writer.
- Knowledge and understanding of technical tools, principles, and practices.
- Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
- Background in automotive lending or loan servicing a plus.
