POSITION OVERVIEW
The Project is looking for experienced Technical Writers who will be responsible for developing procedures (commissioning and startup), O&M Manuals, Training Manuals and Training Modules for the Port Artur LNG Project. The Technical Writer reports to the Project Start-up Manager.
POSITION SUMMARY:
The role requires excellent communication skills, as the Technical Writer will collaborate with various Project team members in management, commissioning, engineering, construction, subcontractors, vendors, licensors, and procurement to achieve project objectives.
The Technical Writer is responsible for generating innovative content while working both independently and collaborative as part of a team. The position focuses on services, technology, or concepts that are easily understood by a broad audience.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Duties and responsibilities of the Technical Writer:
•Determine the clearest and most logical way to present information for greatest reader comprehension.
•Writes and edits other writer's technical documents/manuals according to customer specifications.
•Meet with subject-matter experts to ensure specialized topics are appropriately addressed.
•Analyze information required for the development or update of policy, procedure, and form documentation.
•Review and/or copyedit content developed by other members of the team.
•Research existing data to maximize use of previously developed text and/or illustrations.
•Completes assigned tasks according to established deadlines, project specifications, and company policies and procedures.
QUALIFICATIONS
•Bachelor's degree in English, Communication, Business Administration or Technical Writing.
•Eight (8) plus years' experience writing complete, complex technical documents, including organizing the documents and working with internal and external personnel is required.
•Knowledge and understanding of administration, supervision, and management.
•Be familiar with ANSI/NEETA Standards, NFPA 70 E, IEC, ISA, NFPA 59A Standards.
