We are seeking a proficient Technical Writer to support our valued customer at the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) Analysis & Communications Branch (A&C) within FEMA's Office of Policy and Program Analysis (OPPA), Enterprise Analytics Division (EAD). FEMA A&C branch serves as an Agency-wide gateway for standardized research, analytical support, collaboration, and facilitation of transparent and data-driven decisions.
The right candidate for this role will thrive in a team environment, possess excellent communications skills (both oral & written), and strong interpersonal skills and is a self-starter.
Work Location: This position offers a hybrid schedule - you'll work 2-3 days per week on-site in Washington, DC, and Seventh Sense will support your commute by contributing over $1,500 annually to your Transportation FSA. Salary Range: $70,000-$75,000

- Collaborate with FEMA EAS team members and stakeholders to create, maintain, edit, and refine high-quality technical content that includes documentation, visual aids, reports, user guides, and social media content.
- Adhere to FEMA's style guide, ensuring that we produce high-quality and error-free copy.
- Contribute towards content maintenance and organization of FEMA's knowledge management Intranet/SharePoint site(s) as requested to ensure efficient information sharing, organization, and retrieval.
- Create engaging and informative technical content (e.g., blog posts, case studies, white papers) to showcase the branch's expertise, projects, and achievements.
- Support quality assurance activities including content reviews and documentation edits ensuring accuracy, clarity, grammar and consistency.
- Acquire and maintain a detailed knowledge of FEMA's policies, principles, and strategies, and keep current with relevant developments.
- May provide support for coordinating summits, work groups, meetings, and plan events.
- May assist team with preparing articles for publication in FEMA Weekly and Monday Minute analytics publications.
Desired Qualifications:
- 5 or more years of related Federal experience
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, English, Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field
- Strong writing, proofreading and editing skills
- Proficient in verbal communication and presentation skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
- Excellent Organization and Time management skills
- Quick learner, Self-starter and possess desire to learn/implement new tools and technologies
