dcbel at the leading edge of the residential energy revolution, enabling decentralized energy consumption and production through its vertically integrated suite of energy hardware and software products, and their supporting infrastructure. Our flagship product, the dcbel Home Energy Station, is a small wall mounted device that gives everyone ownership over their energy supply by using solar power to charge their EV and home, unlocking their EVs battery for backup power (V2H), and optimizing the energy flow between their solar panels, EVs, backup battery and the grid.
The opportunity
Lead the charge in designing tomorrows home energy solutions driving design from strategic research to groundbreaking execution.
Role and Responsibilities:
- Play an active role in bridging software and hardware interactions into a unified user experience.
- Define, and formalize dcbel software design systems to achieve a distinct visual product identity.
- Conduct design discovery sessions with key stakeholders to translate customer needs and pain points into viable products.
- Leverage product insights, customer inquiry and usability testing to inform design decisions.
- Assist designers and engineers to implement and deliver quality products.
Key requirements
- A willingness to take initiative, make decisions, and provide strong product knowhow for a wide range end-user application.
- 8+ years of experience designing and developing consumer products mobile/web app experiences, minimum 3 years of experience as a team lead.
- Bachelor's degree in graphic design, computer science, design & visual communication, UI/UX design or related field.
- Exceptional portfolio showcasing recent product design work
- Proven application of user-centered design methodologies with problem-space / solution-space process.
