The Prime Video UX team is seeking a problem-solving Principal UX Designer to deliver a future vision for how our customers will discover and watch their favorite sports teams and leagues. You'll design innovative interactive experiences that help to shape the future of entertainment around how our customers interact with their favorite sports teams and leagues within the Prime Video platform.
This role is for a hands-on design leader who can establish a vision and strategy, scale their impact by empowering other designers on the team and is a key contributor to design artifacts. You will develop strong relationships with fellow Design Leaders and partner closely with Product and Engineering counterparts throughout the product development process to launch bar-raising experiences for customers around the world.

Key job responsibilities
- Analyze customer problems and design delightful solutions that meet measurable business goals.
- Be a strong design advocate across the entire Prime Video team and a bar raiser for quality of work.
- Work across design verticals to standardize and educate others on design systems and visual languages.
- Work closely with product teams to develop use cases and high-level requirements.
- Quickly and thoroughly create process flows, wireframes, and visual design mockups as needed to effectively conceptualize and communicate detailed interaction behaviors.
- Create user-centered designs by considering market analysis, customer feedback, site metrics, and usability findings.
- Develop and maintain detailed user-interface specifications.
- Present design work to the user experience team, product team, and project stakeholders for review and feedback.
- Partner with development teams to build experiences: provide appropriate design specifications, create assets, and review finished interfaces.
A day in the life
A Principal UX Designer for Prime Video will be solving some of our most complex customer problems daily. You are expected to approach problems with a customer-centric mindset first. Day-to-day, you will collaborate with other designers, UX Researchers, Product Managers and Engineers to evolve our content discovery experience, leading design of our most important features and functionality in the Sports space.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 10+ years of professional design experience
- An available online portfolio
- Experience designing interfaces for web, mobile, and living room devices.
- Experience owning end to end product design for large-scale products.
- Strong skills in both working with and presenting to executive leaders.
- Proficiency working with Figma
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- 12+ years of professional design experience
- Experience defining and executing user research methods appropriate to the questions at hand, including but not limited to field research, surveys, lab studies, remote testing, and A-B tests.
- Skill in developing rapid UI prototypes.
- Experience working with distributed teams, across multiple time zones.
- Master’s degree in design, human-computer interaction (HCI), or equivalent.
- Experience working with entertainment and technology development companies.
- Experience designing for accessibility and inclusivity.
