The Senior UX Researcher & Engagement Strategist plays a crucial role in understanding user behavior and needs, connecting these insights with the emotional aspects of the experience to achieve engagement goals. This role leverages behavioral psychology, rigorous research, and UX design principles to uncover user insights, address engagement challenges, and enhance user satisfaction. By understanding user motivations, emotions, and intent through robust research methods, this role informs intuitive design, personalized content, and habit-forming interactions. 

While focused on research, this role ensures that insights seamlessly translate into effective design and communication strategies, shaping digital experiences that deeply resonate with users. The Senior UX Researcher collaborates closely with cross-functional teams to align business objectives with user-centered strategies, driving immediate and long-term product engagement. 

What you’ll be doing 

  • Conduct qualitative and quantitative user research (e.g., interviews, surveys, usability tests) to gather deep insights into users’ needs, behaviors, cognitive processes, and friction areas. 
  • Analyze and synthesize research findings into actionable recommendations, including user personas, journey maps, and research reports to communicate insights effectively. 
  • Apply behavioral psychology principles to research and design strategies, leveraging cognitive triggers, feedback loops, and habit-forming techniques to drive engagement. 
  • Develop and maintain research repositories to ensure scalability and knowledge sharing across the team. 
  • Design and facilitate user testing sessions to evaluate designs, identify areas for improvement, and refine engagement strategies. 
  • Collaborate with UX designers, product managers, developers, and data scientists to integrate research findings into product features and align with user and business needs. 
  • Use research insights to design and refine strategies for fostering long-term user interaction, including gamification and personalized experiences. 
  • Analyze engagement and behavior metrics and use A/B testing to optimize features and engagement strategies. 
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of research methods and processes to ensure they remain impactful and innovative. 
  • Support content strategy by aligning messaging with user needs, motivations, and engagement strategies. 
  • Run experiments and employ rapid iteration to test and optimize features, content, and engagement approaches. 

What you will need to be successful

  • Strong understanding of behavioral psychology and cognitive science, with the ability to apply these principles to uncover user motivations and inform design. 
  • Proven experience conducting user research using multiple methods to gather insights into user behavior and needs. 
  • Demonstrated ability to translate research findings into actionable insights that drive user engagement and retention. 
  • Proficiency in analyzing user engagement metrics and using A/B testing to optimize user experiences. 
  • Strong analytical skills, focusing on synthesizing research data into clear strategies and recommendations. 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex research insights to stakeholders across disciplines. 
  • Familiarity with behavior analytics tools and research repositories for streamlined knowledge sharing. 
  • Experience building engagement strategies and conducting research in industries such as healthcare, retail, or finance is a plus. 
  • 4-6 years of experience in user research, UX design, or a related field.

Salary Range
$99,500.00 To $129,500.00 / year

The compensation range describes the typical minimum or maximum base pay range for this position. The actual compensation offer is determined based on job-related knowledge, education, skills, experience, and work location.
