What youll do

As the UX Research Lead, you'll play a critical role in enhancing Charitable Impacts user experience through the strategic use of data and research insights. You will collaborate closely with the UX Team and cross-functional partners, embedding a rigorous research perspective into strategic decisions that drive both user and business value.


We are a hybrid office, with team members working from home and our Vancouver office. This role is remote eligible within Canada.


Your responsibilities

  • Drive User-Centric Improvements - Lead initiatives to enhance user experience through the strategic development of data tools, ensuring all solutions align with user needs and Charitable Impacts business objectives.
  • Champion Research in Strategic Decisions - Collaborate with the UX Team and broader organization to embed an evidence-based perspective into strategic decisions, advocating for user-centered, insights-driven solutions. Facilitate alignment among team members and stakeholders on research initiatives, driving shared understanding and engagement.
  • Support the UX Team - Partner with the UX Team to ensure research insights are integrated into design solutions, helping guide product iterations that address user pain points and opportunities. Oversee UX research processes to streamline team workflows, optimize resource allocation, and ensure consistency in research, design, and development. Implement and maintain best practices and tools for efficient collaboration, mentorship and documentation across the UX Team, enhancing project visibility and continuity.
  • Lead Knowledge Sharing - Acquire, analyze, and clearly communicate research findings across multiple touchpoints to ensure alignment with Charitable Impacts expectations. Document plans, research insights, and outcomes, engaging stakeholders throughout the research journey for transparency and momentum.
  • Conduct In-Depth Research - Conduct literature reviews, interviews, and various data gathering activities to form a comprehensive understanding of user needs and behaviors. Partner with internal departments, using insights to empower and guide them in delivering user-focused experiences.
  • Stay Ahead of Industry Trends - Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, emerging technologies, and UX best practices to keep Charitable Impact at the forefront of user experience.
  • Advocate for Research and Design Excellence - Build strong relationships across the organization, championing the value of UX and demonstrating its impact on user satisfaction and business outcomes. Support a collaborative environment that fosters growth, innovation, and excellence within the User Research Team.
  • Shape UX Strategy - Contribute to the overarching UX strategy, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and supporting a unified vision for user-centered design. Collaborate on building, maintaining, and communicating Charitable Impacts knowledge base through reports, summaries, and other internal documentation.


What we're looking for

  • 5+ years of experience working within an in-house research team or relevant work experience
  • Completion of a Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline
  • Extensive experience in quantitative and qualitative research methods
  • Solid understanding of research and how it translates into business value
  • Experience writing reports and internal communications
  • Excellent communication and analytical skills - the ability to communicate complex concepts clearly and persuasively across different audiences and varying levels of the organization
  • Proven ability to work independently and collaborate with a cross-functional team
  • Experience with agile process and delivery models
  • A rigorous approach to documentation and organization
  • Tools: Pendo, User Testing, Hotjar, Figjam, User Zoom, Jira, ChatGPT, Perplexity, Helpscout, Google Workspace, Quicksight, Miro, FigJam, Dovetail, Maze

Compensation

The expected starting salary range for this role is $100,000 - $110,000/year.
