Job Description

The User Experience Architect will focus on designing and improving the user experience of digital products. They are involved in enhancing the usability, accessibility, and overall satisfaction of users. This role involves conducting user research, creating wireframes and prototypes, and collaborating with cross-functional teams. They are responsible for the development of user-centric experiences based on the client's business objectives and strategic goals, following the direction of more senior UX team members.

The User Experience Architect will need to understand user needs and how the digital product's architecture and functionality appropriately meet those needs. They must be familiar with legal, medical, and regulatory pharma guidelines, as well as any client-specific rules and brand guidelines. It is critical in this role to be a critical logical thinker, organized, and detail-oriented.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Problem solving:

  • Must be resourceful and responsible, able to support team members and deliver on work assigned.
  • A thorough knowledge of their group’s workload and intervenes to ensure all deadlines are met and makes sure workloads are balanced.
  • Able to coach and guide junior-level team members and serve as the primary UX contact on a brand.

Communication:

  • Can clearly communicate both verbally and in writing.
  • Actively communicates with supervisors and other XD team members to note ability to take on new work and inform them of relevant status in a timely fashion.
  • Welcomes feedback from team members across all disciplines, including XD, creative, project management, strategy, account, and clients.

JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

Responsibilities

  • Develops user-centric experiences based on the client's business objectives and strategic goals following the direction of more senior UX team members.
  • Performs UX tasks in digital formats for assigned projects that focus on the end-user and the intended actions to take throughout their journey.
  • Communicates the value of UX methodologies to key stakeholders.
  • Understands user needs and how the digital product's architecture and functionality appropriately meet those needs.
  • Must empathize with the experiences of the end user.

Cross Functional Collaboration

  • Develops relationships with different agency departments including Strategy, Art, Copy, Editorial, Account, and Project Management.
  • Always communicates with team members regarding deadlines, revisions, quality control, and new work.
  • Collaborates with the team in a productive manner.
  • Works with Product Design partners to ensure that the intended branding, campaign, and layout as well as UX architecture and functionality are aligned with the needs of the user with the guidance of more senior UX team members.
  • Proactively approaches supervisors with new ideas and suggestions for personal career growth and team dynamics.

Administration

  • Completes timesheets, expenses, and all other administrative duties accurately and on a timely basis.
  • Discuss concerns about deadlines and requests with Lead, project team’s IP, and/or Account group.

EDUCATION:

DEGREE/DIPLOMA AREA OF STUDY REQUIRED/PREFERRED

Education: Bachelor’s Degree

Areas of Concentration: Marketing, advertising, computer science, human-computer interaction, human factors, psychology, anthropology, graphic design, or related discipline Preferred

LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS:

UX professional certification (preferred)

EXPERIENCE:

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE AREA OF EXPERTISE REQUIRED/PREFERRED

4 plus years of experience: designing applications, interactive touchscreen experiences, and websites.

Agency, healthcare, and interactive design experience a plus.

Related Roles: UX Information Architect, UX Strategist, Technical Writer, Content Strategist, UI/Developer, HCI, Visual Communications, UI/Graphic Design, or related field preferred. Preferred

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:

Software Level: Basic Proficient

  • Primary: Figma, Adobe XD, and Sketch
  • Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams)

User Experience Level: Competent

  • UX processes, principles, trends, and UX architecture deliverables.
  • Qualitative/quantitative moderated and unmoderated user research: 1-1 interviews, surveys and usability testing, analytics, competitor, and heuristic evaluations.
  • Must possess a solid understanding of UX best practices and can reference the research to support all claims.
  • Creates deliverables aligned with the brief.

Ability Level: Competent

  • Works collaboratively with Account, Strategy, Copy, Art, and Product Design partners.
  • Supervises and mentors Jr. UX on site maps and wireframes and advises on file set up best practices.
  • Work closely with strategy and provide User direction on UX strategy and functional requirements needed to support tactics.
  • Identify UX deliverable issues and advise Jr. UX Architects.
  • Present wireframes to internal teams and clients.
  • Act as a primary UX point-of-contact on a brand.
  • Attends kickoffs and any scoping meetings. Provide feedback on Pre-Briefs, Briefs, Scopes, Timelines, Hours, Staffing – escalate when needed.
  • Work closely with strategy and provide User direction on UX strategy and functional requirements needed to support tactics.
  • Provide support for pitches.
  • Flag common pre-Development WCAG 2.1 AA accessibility violations to Product Designers, Art Directors, and Copywriters.

SALARY RANGE:

$70,000 to $95,000 annually.

The salary range for this position is noted within this job posting.
