Description
Come and join an integral support and operations team inside an Apple Services Engineering (ASE) organization - working closely with our engineering teams to support multiple projects and features across the Apple Media Products and Services ecosystem! This amazing role will provide critical support to our media encoding platforms and workflows and interact directly with engineering and different operations teams. You'll also partner cross-functionally with our internal business and operations teams in testing, monitoring and production support across these projects and features. Be responsible for reporting, monitoring and troubleshooting the ingestion/encoding pipeline for all Apple Services media, with emphasis on sports and original content. Be responsible for the process to conduct technical analysis of incidents, performing root cause investigation and review with technical teams. Here's your opportunity to troubleshoot complex partner and vendor integrations. After hours and weekend monitoring, triage and escalation management of various media assets.
Minimum Qualifications
- Experience diagnosing technical issues
- Knowledge of process management, metrics and KPIs
- Familiar with digital media files and content
- Familiar with video playback technologies, Digital Rights Management, HTTP Live Streaming, video acquisition and distribution, monitoring and reporting
- Knowledge of video ecosystem: delivery and processing of large scale VOD and EST video and audio
- Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to understand technical concepts and connect with non-technical customers
- Bachelor’s degree, or 4 years equivalent work experience
- This role will require after-hours and weekend support
Key Qualifications
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiar with broadcast transport technologies
- Familiar with livestream ad-insertion technologies
- Familiar with live broadcast environments and operational workflow for high profile event productions.
- Experience with SQL, XML
- Comfortable with command line tools (chmod, curl, grep, ssh, scp)
- Experience working with observability tools (Grafana, Kibana, DataDog)
- Experience with Java programming, scripting

Pay & Benefits
At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $129,600 and $236,300, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple’s discretionary employee stock programs. Apple employees are eligible for discretionary restricted stock unit awards, and can purchase Apple stock at a discount if voluntarily participating in Apple’s Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
