JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Director, Technical Event & Video Production is responsible for leading the planning and execution of technical production, especially audiovisual aspects, for internal and external events and video production, working cross-functionally across Event Marketing, Corporate Communications, Corporate Marketing, and IT.

This individual will serve as the on-site producer of all high-profile in-person, virtual, and hybrid events and manage the meticulous planning required to make sure the experience is delivered flawlessly.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Envision and craft end-to-end technical production strategy for high-profile in-person, virtual, and hybrid events, inclusive of staging, lighting, videos, graphics, content, interactive components, collaborating across the organization as appropriate.
  2. Manage creation of video content for events and corporate projects, including any pre-production planning and on-site video production.
  3. Produce, stage manage and direct large-scale and Board-level meetings and events for clients and employees.
  4. Manage technical production, set-up and testing for meetings and events, including all technical preparations, meeting room selection, and tech-checks.
  5. Assist with venue selection and site visits with Event Marketing.
  6. Lead all AV technicians in directing staging, lighting, cameras, and microphones.
  7. Coordinate speaker rehearsals, including with teleprompter, serving as the lead in engaging with executives and clients.
  8. Manage interactive content, PowerPoint slides, audience polling, webcasting, etc.
  9. Cue speakers; manage transitions and announcements.
  10. Coordinate videos/Zoom/other technologies with IT and/or M&C.
  11. Create back-up plans with safeguards.
  12. Ensure with IT that appropriate equipment is available, on-site, and tested.
  13. Manage any external vendors and partners (e.g., AV production companies).
  14. Perform post-event evaluations.
  15. Evolve best practices for video and event production, incorporating new and emerging technologies.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent experience.
  2. 10-15 years of related technical event A/V production experience for corporate events.
  3. Experience producing and directing live in-person, virtual, and hybrid events, utilizing Zoom Webinar, Zoom meeting, Cisco Webex, and other event technologies.
  4. Highly organized, detail-oriented, articulate, professional, and ability to excel in a fast-paced environment.
  5. Ability to innovate and find new ways to deliver A/V services and support.
  6. Excellent communication skills.
  7. Gravitas to work and communicate with Executive-level internal and clients.
  8. Ability to work independently on complex matters and to exercise sound discretion and judgment.
  9. Strong influencing skills, particularly when overseeing work of individuals not in your direct line of supervision.
  10. Ability to work with a variety of diverse groups and teams.
  11. Excellent project management, resource management, and budgeting skills.
