Summary/Objective

Responsible for conducting thorough inspections of products. This position ensures that all products meet company standards and regulatory requirements, contributing to the overall safety and satisfaction of our customers.

Essential Functions
  • Conduct visual inspections of pharmacy and wellness products using human senses and non-specialized equipment.
  • Utilize sensory evaluation (sight, smell, touch) to identify defects or inconsistencies.
  • Perform regular quality assessments on all outgoing products to ensure they meet established specifications.
  • Reject products that do not meet quality expectations and accurately document findings.
  • Collaborate with pharmacy team to ensure adherence to compounding quality protocols and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with production teams to ensure best practices in product handling and preparation.
  • Maintain accurate records of inspection results, including any discrepancies or defects found.
  • Prepare and submit detailed reports on quality assessments, trends, and recommendations for improvement.
  • Ensure that products comply with design and safety specifications.
  • Work closely with pharmacists and production staff to address quality concerns and enhance product quality.
  • Provide training to team members on quality control standards and procedures, emphasizing attention to detail.
  • Identify and resolve quality-related issues promptly, implementing corrective actions as necessary.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives to prevent future quality issues.
  • Perform other related duties as required and assigned.

Work Environment

This job operates in a compounding pharmacy environment.

Physical Demands

This position requires frequent sitting, walking, standing, reading, seeing, speaking, hearing, listening, organizing, interpreting data and information, operating pharmacy, typing using a computer keyboard and mouse.Some positions may require lifting, occasional bending or kneeling. The working environment consists of an indoor and climate-controlled setting the majority of the time. The employee may regularly lift and/or move objects up to 25 pounds.

Travel

Travel is primarily local during the business day, although some out-of-area and overnight travel may be expected.

Required Education and Experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical training in quality control or pharmacy-related field is a plus.
  • Must be a Pharmacy technician or pharmacy technician trainee
  • 1-2 years previous experience in quality control or visual inspection within a compounding pharmacy or pharmaceutical environment preferred.

Additional Eligibility Qualifications
  • Some experience in using inspection tools and equipment, such as magnifying glasses and measuring devices.
