This course is designed to provide an overview of the visual and performing arts curriculum as outlined through the California Department of Education for all K-8 students. The main objective of this course is to provide a basic foundation of the visual and performing arts, connect them to the content standards, and explore how to integrate the arts into the classroom.

Required Qualifications

Master's Degree
Evidence of scholarly commitment (conferences, committees,
published works)
Experience teaching the arts, ideally within a K-8 setting
Background within VPA (undergraduate, graduate, or credential)
Multiple Subject / Single Subject Credential (experience in the arts and/or
art integrations)
Evidence of knowledge (coursework or experience) with multiple fields within
the Arts (music/theater/dance)
Graduate degree (Art, Art History. Music, Dance, or Drama)

Hiring Salary Per Hiring Rank:

Adjunct Instructor (no terminal degree): $27.04

Adjunct Professor (with terminal degree): $28.08
