Title: PROPOSAL AND TECHNICAL WRITER
Reports to: DIRECTOR OF PRE-CONSTRUCTION
Annual Salary: $75K to $90K DOE

Presently, Cornerstone is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Proposal Coordinator and Technical Writer.
JOB OVERVIEW
The Proposal Coordinator and Technical Writer will assist in developing pursuit plans and client outreach activities ahead of RFP release. Additionally, they will produce SOQs/proposals, including editing and graphics; and prepare all materials for digital and/or print reproduction. The Proposal Coordinator and Technical Writer will identify and monitor SOQ/proposal criteria, ensure full compliance, and handle production/arrangement for on-time delivery. The Proposal Coordinator and Technical Writer has a strong understanding of all the aspects regarding the proposal process, construction, and creatively and proactively solve problems. The ideal candidate will be organized, is detail-oriented and proactive, and enjoys writing.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Participate in all Business Development meetings to track and monitor procurement opportunities and deadlines. to include lead management, Request for Quotes (RFQs), Request for Proposal (RFPs), and active proposals.
- Ensure all documentation material and information is current, relevant, and updated regularly, including current projects, staff information, and historical records.
- Maintain and organize marketing-related database and historical records.
- Manage Cornerstone’s proposal submission process according to set standards regarding order, clarity, conciseness, style, and terminology by utilizing all historical proposals, bids, graphics, and other material work and revisions.
- Write, edit, and standardize proposal process and ensure appropriate visual information is utilized for each response, including photographs, drawings, sketches, diagrams, and charts/tables.
- A team player with the ability to work independently and the ability to work closely with Preconstruction and Construction teams to become intimately familiar with construction technologies and production methods to enhance the overall effectiveness of each proposal response.
- Conduct and manage the design and production process utilized to review all material prior to publication and submission. Work with management teams to modify and edit as necessary to ensure the proposal is submitted in a timely manner.
- Confer with internal team members, customer representatives, vendors, executives, and other key stakeholders to understand and establish technical specifications to determine subject material to be developed for publication.
- Actively participate in AEC-industry professional organizations, including the Society of Marketing and Professional Services (SMPS).
- Additional duties to enhance firm’s marketing presence, as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
Required
- Associate’s degree in marketing, Business Administration, Graphic Design or related field; will accept relative experience in lieu of formal education
- 3-5 years of technical/proposal writing experience
- 3-5 years of graphic design experience
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Microsoft Office proficiency (MS Excel, MS Word, MS Outlook, MS Teams)
- Adobe Creative Suite proficiency (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator)
Preferred
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, Business Administration, Graphic Design or related field; will accept relative experience in lieu of formal education
- 3+ years of construction or related industry experience
- 5+ years of technical/proposal writing experience
- 5+ years of graphic design experience
- Previous track record of successful proposal writing within the AEC industry

Additionally, the ideal candidate will have sufficient mobility to climb ladders, access tight spaces, and will be required to visit construction sites.

Office and field, including travel statewide.
