Minimum Candidate Characteristics:
- Experience in developing enterprise applications using J2EE, Angular, JavaScript, HTML5, CSS3, Bootstrap, and SASS with responsive design and SPAs.
- Proficient in J2EE Application Servers, authentication/authorization, caching strategies, and Test-driven development using Karma, Jasmine, or Selenium.
- Expertise in optimizing and maintaining Angular applications with a focus on design, performance, scalability, and reusable components.
Exceptional Candidate Characteristics:
- Experience with HHS agency and/or healthcare programs, systems, and solution implementations.
- Experience with IBM WebSphere Application Server 8+ and Agile methodologies (preferably Scrum).
- Skilled in developing web applications for Cloud, mobile, and tablet platforms and implementing CI/CD methodologies.
HHSC has issued a request for 2 Senior Front End/UI Developer to support their Social Services Applications team. This role will be developing and maintaining web-based J2EE/Portal applications for the State Portal, Eligibility Web Services, Enterprise Content Management, and other Social Services applications.
Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
- Participate in requirements analysis, design (high-level and detailed), development, testing, and deployment of new application components within a Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA).
- Create and maintain technical and design documentation, as well as data and process models, ensuring alignment with project standards.
- Analyze software for configuration and performance tuning opportunities to optimize application reliability and functionality.
- Provide technical support for testing, implementation, and production operations, ensuring smooth application deployment and maintenance.
Expected Duration: 9 months / 1550 hours
Location: This is a remote role from anywhere within the State of Texas.
Deadline: Friday 12/20 by 5:00 PM.
I. DESCRIPTION OF SERVICES
The Department of Information Resources (DIR) requires the services of One Developer hereafter referred to as Worker, who meets the general qualification of Developer 3 Emerging and the specifications outlined in this document for Health & Human Services Commission - Social Services Applications team.
- Performs Front End/UI application development, enhancement, maintenance, and support for Social Services User Interface applications.
- Develops software solutions by studying information needs, conferring with users, and studying systems flow, data usage, and work processes.
- As a member of the team, participate in requirements analysis, high-level and detailed design, development, testing and deployment of new application components, as required.
- Analyze UI framework, libraries for configuration & performance tuning opportunities, as required.
- Develop, enhance and maintain existing and new web-based J2EE/Portal applications within HHSC's SOA (Service Oriented Architecture) platform using Agile methodologies.
- Create technical and design documentation, as required.
- Perform system analysis and problem resolution, as required.
- Develop and maintain data and process models, as required.
- Employ contemporary testing methods to ensure applications function properly and without error.
- Provide technical support for testing and implementation efforts.
- Participate in program design, coding and test walk-through meetings to provide input regarding technical standards and customer requirements.
- Provide application support (defect repair, maintenance, and production operations support) for web-based Java applications in an SOA platform. Perform system analysis, troubleshooting, diagnosis and problem resolution. Analyze software for defects and performance tuning opportunities. Develop and test application code to resolve defects and improve application reliability and performance.
- Other duties as assigned.
