Oracle Senior Principal UX Designer, Analytics Juneau, Alaska Apply Now

The Oracle Analytics team is on a mission to break analytics out of its traditional role of retrospective reflection for specialists. These new analytics experiences won’t just report data; they will help people make informed decisions that help them manage and improve their business. You will have tremendous influence across disciplines and organization divisions, partnering with product and engineering in designing the strategy and the shipping product. The Oracle Analytics team helps design experiences for users across all the Oracle product pillars, including human capital management, supply chain management, customer experience, and finance.

As a Senior Principal UX Designer, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and validating user scenarios that deliver critical value and drive new product capabilities at Oracle. Collaborating closely with software development teams, product management, and Oracle customers, you will define both user and business needs, set a clear vision, and lead its execution. You will lead the analytics user experience for a product pillar, partnering with our design team and stakeholders to drive its design and development. By mastering the intricacies of this product area, you will leverage analytics to better support user needs. Additionally, you will explore innovative ways to integrate AI/ML models, interactive visualizations, and planning tools to convert insights into actionable outcomes. Your role as a UX advocate will extend to contributing to research efforts, ensuring customer needs are at the forefront of the design process. By working closely with other UX teams, you will help clarify the right product strategy, aligning it with the broader ecosystem of Oracle products.

Our team also has another growing product in the market already, so you can also contribute to human-centered information design and the tools used to administer and manage the products.

While you’re at it, you’ll be guiding the cross-functional Analytics team through application of Oracle’s award-winning, full-stack Redwood design system built to get users across hundreds of applications to fall in love with Oracle one interaction at a time.

The work you’ll do is…

You thrive on working well with others. You make the people around you better. You love to collaborate with designers, user researchers, engineers, product managers, executives, and inspire them to do their best.

Human-led

People/customers are at the center of everything we do along with showing humanity in our approach. You will partner with customers to understand their objectives and their users’ needs. Empathize with them and envision what might make their workflows and experiences spectacularly better. Work with UX researchers to conduct exploratory and evaluative sessions to identify critical needs and goals, then refine workflow, UI, and product strategy.

Superb craftsmanship

You will be designing solutions from concept, wireframes, and prototypes to detailed, visually polished and scalable experiences, ready for implementation. Incorporate feedback quickly and adapt to changes in business requirements and timelines without compromising quality. Leverage the existing design style guide and system, templates, and components in order to deliver quality on time. Define the new patterns needed for the future. Own & drive the experience of our products - and experience the incredible impact that your work will have on our customers.

Bold, aspirational, exciting

We create solutions that span not just the depth and breadth of the challenges our customers face, but come from our diverse employee base, which is core to our DNA. A modern user experience is not modern if it's one-size-fits-all.

You will work closely with kind, curious and smart designers, researchers, writers, product managers, and engineers across the globe. We believe innovation starts with inclusion; everyone’s voice is heard and valued.

You love rules and you know when to break them. You think systemically because you know that creating a coherent experience requires it. But you know when the system needs to expand to accommodate a user’s varied conceptual model. And you know when to do something completely unique to create an arresting and product-defining moment in the product that makes users ooh and aah.

You don’t already know everything and you love to learn. You’re inspired by helping users solve their problems. You love finding out you’re wrong. You consume large amounts of quantitative and qualitative data to constantly refine your assumptions.

And finally, you want to be part of creating spectacular and impactful change at a company that is committed to becoming a light unto others when it comes to user experience design. You might have learned your craft via formal training or via on-the-job training. For most candidates, it’s a combination of both. As long as you’ve got experience and passion doing this work at the highest level, we’d love to talk to you and see a portfolio of the work you’re most proud of.
