About the role

As our first marketer, you will report to the CEO and will work closely with him on messaging and positioning, landing pages, product launches, case studies, community, social, and more. For this role we're looking for someone entrepreneurial, scrappy, and creative that is comfortable trying new things, failing quickly, and picking up new skills as needed. This role is ideal for someone that wants to be on the ground floor of a scaling startup, work directly with the founding team, and be responsible for driving many "firsts" (first case study, first community event, etc.).

What you'll do
  • You'll be a customer advocate. You'll spend a lot of time meeting our customers and understanding their needs, so that you can represent them to the rest of the team and create effective messaging.
  • You'll help us launch, a lot. You'll set up playbooks for launches on ProductHunt, Twitter, and other communities, and find creative ways for us to announce new features.
  • You'll help tell customer stories. You'll work with our best customers and help us tell their stories via case studies, video, social and more.
  • You'll manage our community. You'll be responsible for managing our Slack community - posting announcements, answering questions, and overall making it a great place for users.
  • You'll work on various other marketing initiatives. Depending on your experience and interests, you may also work on landing pages, email marketing, launch videos, and social media. We don't expect you to be an expert in all of these, but we do expect you to learn quickly and not be afraid of doing things outside your comfort zone.
  • You'll learn about startups. Aside from your core work, you'll have the opportunity to get involved in other areas - growth, support, ops, etc.

Who you are
  • You're familiar with early stage marketing. You've been a marketer at an early-stage startup before and know what it means to wear many hats.
  • You care about quality. You believe that one of the most important things a startup needs to do early on is to build a brand that stands for quality and authenticity.
  • You're hardworking. You understand that building a category-defining company requires people that work smart and that also work hard.
  • You're scrappy. You have experience experimenting with creative marketing campaigns and enjoy being hands-on.
