Job Description
The Associate Producer (Business Development Specialist) is responsible for identifying and securing Brand Participants to be featured in one of BrandStar's TV shows, which air on the Lifetime network or other cable networks.
This is an inside sales role calling upon C-level decision makers in national companies. Creative aspects of developing segment concepts are required as part of the sales process.
Compensation includes a base salary + commission + bonus potential.
Associate Producers must have a unique combination of creativity and sales ability to support the business development efforts of their assigned show.

Specific responsibilities include:
- Develop story lines for show segments that compliment an Event Calendar or cover a specific area of interest. Identify national brands that may be a good fit for the show segment being developed through online research.
- Compile detailed information regarding the prospective business partner and provide call list to Programming Coordinators.
- Present business opportunity and story line to the decision makers at the prospective partner including the creative concept and funding requirements.
- Work with senior members of the Programming team to obtain a signed contract.
- Collaborate with content partners to complete the creative process ensuring story lines integrate the customer's product or service.
Experience and Skills
Requirements:
- Must be able to communicate professionally and effectively with C-level executives and marketing professionals.
- Must be able to use creativity and develop storylines for show segments.
- Possesses energetic phone presence and ability to connect with others via phone.
- Prior business development experience in TV or radio ad sales a plus.
- Prior business-to-business inside sales experience preferred.
