OVERVIEW OF THE COMPANY Fox TV StationsFOX Television Stations owns and operates 29 full power broadcast television stations in the U.S. These include stations located in 14 of the top 15 largest designated market areas, or DMAs, and duopolies in 11 DMAs, including the three largest DMAs (New York, Los Angeles and Chicago). Of these stations, 18 are affiliated with the FOX Network. In addition to distributing sports, entertainment and syndicated content, our television stations collectively produce approximately 1,200 hours of local news every week. These stations leverage viewer, distributor and advertiser demand for the FOX Network's national content. JOB DESCRIPTION WFLD News is seeking a visionary to lead the sports department in producing engaging and informative sports content across various media platforms, ensuring high journalistic standards and audience growth within the sports segment. The EP will be directly responsible for: Oversee and manage the sports content production team. Develop and execute strategies for live sports broadcasts, special sports programs, and sports-related digital content. Coordinate with on-air talent, reporters, and technical staff to produce compelling sports stories and segments. Supervise the curation of engaging multimedia content for TV, web, and social media platforms. Ensure sports coverage is accurate, fair, and adheres to ethical journalism standards. Monitor sports trends, viewer interests, and competitor activity to develop innovative coverage concepts. Collaborate with sales and marketing teams to maximize revenue opportunities and audience engagement. Mentor and develop talent within the sports team, including performance reviews, coaching, and fostering a positive work environment. Manage the sports production budget, allocating resources effectively while maintaining high-quality output. Skills: Innovative storytelling with an eye for engaging visual and interactive elements. Strong editorial judgment and understanding of media law and ethics. Adept at multitasking with the ability to prioritize and delegate tasks effectively. Experience in budget management and resource allocation. Ability to collaborate across teams and manage diverse groups of people. Editing experience with Adobe Premier is a must, Aftereffects is a plus. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in journalism, Communications, or a related field. Substantial sports producing experience with a proven track record in a television newsroom. Expert knowledge of sports, both local and national, and an understanding of what audiences seek in sports coverage. Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills. Demonstrated ability to make quick and responsible decisions under pressure. Proficiency in digital content creation and understanding of the digital media landscape.
