Position Overview:

The Technical Designer (with Fit Duties) will bridge the gap between creative design and production, ensuring our apparel meets the highest standards of quality, fit, and functionality. This is a full-time, in-house position, and applicants must be available to work on-site at our design office. The role requires a keen eye for detail, technical expertise, and a collaborative mindset to bring innovative designs to life.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Technical Documentation & Tech Pack Creation

Develop comprehensive tech packs, including detailed specifications for measurements, construction methods, fabrics, trims, and graphic placements.

Ensure tech packs are accurate, clear, and regularly updated to align with design iterations and production needs.

2. Fit Management & Quality Assurance

Lead fittings for all product types, providing detailed fit comments and recommendations for pattern adjustments.

Collaborate with the Creative Director to maintain consistent fit and sizing across all collections, balancing athletic performance (Golf) with lifestyle comfort.

Ensure garments meet the brand's standards for fit, movement, and functionality across a full size range.

3. Material & Construction Expertise

Provide input on fabric and material selection, emphasizing performance qualities such as stretch, breathability, durability, and moisture management.

Work with suppliers and production teams to ensure construction techniques align with technical specifications and enhance product performance.

4. Sample Review & Approval

Oversee the prototype and sample development process, reviewing and approving all pre-production samples.

Ensure that the fit, construction, and overall quality meet the brand's expectations before moving to full production.

5. Collaboration & Cross-Functional Leadership

Partner with the Lead Designer to translate creative concepts into technical specifications.

Work closely with the Product Development & Production Manager to ensure technical feasibility and resolve any production challenges.

Act as a liaison between design, production, and suppliers to ensure a seamless workflow from concept to finished product.

6. Trend & Market Analysis (Optional, if applicable)

Stay updated on emerging innovations in fabric technology, garment construction, and fit methodologies, incorporating new techniques where beneficial.

Provide insights on competitor practices regarding fit and technical construction for continuous improvement.

Qualifications:

•Bachelor's degree in Technical Design, Apparel Design, or a related field.

•5+ years of experience in technical design, preferably in performance wear or lifestyle apparel.

•Strong expertise in fit analysis, patternmaking, and garment construction.

•Proficient in using design software such as Adobe Illustrator and technical tools for fit evaluations (e.g., 3D design programs).

•Exceptional attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

•Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with design and production teams.

•Knowledge of performance-driven apparel, particularly in the golf or athletic sector, is highly preferred.
