The main function of a graphic designer is to create designs, concepts and sample layouts based on design principles and concepts. A typical graphic designer needs to have a high level of creativity and able to communicate their ideas to both internal and external clients. The ability to be flexible to client demands, work well under pressure and multi-task are required skills.
Position's Contributions to Work Group
- To provide consultation, support and project management within the Energy & Transportation segment in the areas of graphic design, art direction, production and systems applications for a broad range of media communications, publications and corporate material while delivering high quality and cost-effective solutions.
- Plan, analyze and create visual solutions to communication problems.
- Develop overall layout and production design of publications or web interfaces as they relate to graphic design.
- Prepare sketches or layouts to present to client.
- Create charts and graphs from data given.
Typical Day
- Create PowerPoint presentations that tell a business story or explain complex engineering concepts for internal and external audiences.
- Willing to learn the business in order to better convey information through graphic designer.
Interaction with team:
- Consults with customers to determine key objectives, target audience, budget constraints, delivery timeline and develops media recommendations to achieve customer objectives.
- Develops concept proposals including media selected and project schedule with major milestones.
Work environment:
- Office environment.

- Need someone translate technical business information into visually engaging and executive-friendly content using PowerPoint and other design tools.
- Experience in PowerPoint and ability to create visually compelling presentations for executive audiences
