AEG is hiring: Spring 2025 Internship: Photography and Videography in Charlotte

Empower Sports and Entertainment and Queen City Sports and Entertainment is looking for three versatile and driven interns to assist with the photography and/or videography content creation for the organization's three professional sports teams: Carolina Ascent FC (Women's Soccer), Anthem Rugby Carolina (Men's Rugby) and the Charlotte Independence (Men's Soccer). This position requires some photography and/or videography experience. The ideal candidate will have a passion for learning sports photography and videography.

The organization is looking for an intern who's self-motivated, takes initiative, has a strong work ethic, is adaptable to an ever-evolving business, has good customer service skills, communicates effectively, is organized, understands time management and task prioritization, energetic, enthusiastic and eager to learn and grow.

Compensation: This internship is not paid. The organization will assist with meeting requirements for school internship classes as needed.

Photography Internship Description:

  1. Capture photos at training sessions once per week. This includes action shots and aesthetic content for media release and social media.
  2. Assist to complete USL Super League, Major League Rugby and USL League One Photo Requirements on match days in addition to other fan content and game action. Photography assignments will fulfill a variety of needs including ticket packages, advertisement, sponsorship, and social media needs.
  3. Provide photo coverage at watch parties and community events as assigned by your supervisor.
  4. Assist with capture of media day photos as assigned by your supervisor.
  5. Assist Creative Content Producer in shooting feature stories including behind the scenes, people, and product shots.
  6. Assist Creative Content Producer in collaborating with sponsors on partnership and product photos.
  7. Brainstorm weekly content ideas for Carolina Ascent FC, Anthem Rugby Carolina and Charlotte Independence social media channels.
  8. Continuously help build a library of content for the 2025 season.
  9. Other duties as assigned by the supervisor.


Videography Internship Description:

  1. Capture video content at training sessions once per week. This includes action shots and aesthetic content for media release and social media.
  2. Capture game action and fan content on game days for media release and league usage.
  3. Live edit match highlights for real-time publishing via social media.
  4. Videography assignments will fulfill a variety of needs including advertisement, sponsorship, and social media needs.
  5. Capture videos of players on media day as assigned by your supervisor.
  6. Attend and cover club events and produce recap videos in a timely manner.
  7. Assist Creative Content Producer in filming feature stories including interviews, b-roll, behind the scenes, and product shots.
  8. Assist Creative Content Producer in collaborating with sponsors on videos highlighting partnership.
  9. Brainstorm weekly content for Carolina Ascent FC, Charlotte Independence, and Anthem Rugby Carolina social media channels.
  10. Continuously help build a library of content for the 2025 season.
  11. Other duties as assigned by the supervisor.


Minimum Work Hours Required:

  • 20 hours per week. Specific dates and times will be organized with your supervisor.
  • Game day hours will start as required to execute the event effectively and vary depending on game start times.
