The Pasco County Library System is currently seeking forward-thinking interns to join our team. We're a fun and fast-paced non-traditional governmental office that likes to provide solutions. Our interns gain relevant experience by working hands-on with our marketing professionals to further the Pasco Libraries brand and communicate our value and services to the community.

Minimum Requirements
PHYSICAL SKILLS/WORKING CONDITIONS: Ability to communicate effectively using verbal, written, and visual communication. Travel to in-county destinations for on-location photography opportunities.
EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE: Candidate must be enrolled in an accredited college or university and majoring in (or have recently graduated from) public relations, communications, advertising, journalism, graphic design, video production, mass media studies or related field and have basic photography skills. Must possess strong written and interpersonal communications skills. Must be organized and flexible with the ability to prioritize time-sensitive projects. Must be able to work a sometimes elastic schedule and 20 hours per week (some evenings may be required). Skilled experience using Microsoft Office applications and Adobe Cloud based products. Prior relevant internship experience preferred. Organization Social media experience preferred.
LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS OR REGISTRATIONS: Must possess a valid Florida driver's license.

Your responsibilities may include one or more of the following:
- Assist in the planning and execution of Libraries marketing campaign strategies.
- Design professional grade marketing materials including print and digital assets.
- Design templates for newsletters, flyers, promotional information packets, signs and displays.
- Develop and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders to achieve County and departmental communications goals.
- Assist with the planning, design, and promoting of department special events.
- Draft succinct copy for blogs, social media outlets, new releases, pitches & other written content consistent with the Pasco Libraries brand.
- Support the department's social media presence with content creation, trends research, and data analysis.
- Manage and update websites, as needed, to maintain brand consistency and content messaging.
- Set goals, monitor and analyze performance of websites, social media accounts, advertisements and email campaigns performed by various County departments.
- Produce written and multimedia content for a variety of Pasco County needs.
- Conduct research.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Candidates seeking academic internship credit.
- Candidates with the aptitude to use the Adobe Creative Suite of tools including InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator, Sketchup Pro, HTML/CSS, and/or Adobe Premier Pro.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and a desire to exceed expectations.
- Excellent verbal, writing, and non-verbal skills with persuasive consensus building techniques.
- Must be a self-starter.
- Must possess attention to detail.
