This is an exciting opportunity to join Sourcebooks Landmark, a dynamic and forward-thinking publisher that is redefining the literary landscape. As a Publicist, you’ll be at the forefront of crafting and executing innovative, high-impact publicity campaigns for some of the most anticipated and celebrated fiction titles. You’ll have the chance to build meaningful relationships with national media, authors, and influencers, while playing a key role in shaping the visibility and success of our titles. With a focus on creativity, collaboration, and strategic growth, this role offers the chance to make a tangible impact in the publishing industry while working alongside a passionate and supportive team.

As a Publicist, you will lead publicity campaigns for frontlist fiction titles, working to secure major media placements, create impactful author experiences, and drive sales growth. You will be responsible for strategizing and executing publicity plans, managing author relations, and coordinating author events. Your efforts will directly influence the visibility and success of our titles in the market.

This position can be hybrid in Naperville or NYC, or fully remote in the following states ONLY: AZ, CT, LA, MA, MD, MN,  NJ, NY, NV, OR, PA, TN, TX, WA, AND WI.

The annual salary range for this role is between $50,000 - $65,000 with the final offer dependent on experience and qualifications

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and execute publicity strategies for 6-7 frontlist fiction titles each season, securing high-impact national media coverage and working to feature titles in major consumer media “best of” lists.
  • Build and maintain relationships with national media contacts, coordinate meetings, and collaborate with the marketing team on influencer and grassroots initiatives.
  • Plan and execute author tours and local events, working closely with the events coordinator to ensure successful author appearances. 
  • Create and distribute media materials such as press releases, bios, and event guides, and develop special ARC packaging and media kits as needed.
  • Serve as the primary contact for assigned authors, communicating publicity efforts and supporting their local publicity and influencer campaigns.
What you bring:
  • 4+ years of experience in publicity, preferably within book publishing.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong media relationships.
  • Proven experience with booking and managing bookstore events and festival engagements. 
  • Strong creative perspective including writing skills and visual instincts
  • Passion for books and a deep understanding of the adult fiction market.
