The Allied Global Marketing National Publicity Internship Program is designed to introduce aspiring professionals to careers in the public relations industry while honing skills necessary to succeed in entry-level positions and beyond.
This is a remote position that requires working East Coast hours. Ideal candidate resides in NYC.
REQUIREMENTS
Internship candidates must be able to work effectively with a close-knit agency on public relations efforts for a diverse range of clients in hospitality, food and beverage, entertainment, and lifestyle sectors. The candidate must have good organizational skills and the ability to adapt to new conditions, assignments, and deadlines. This person must have strong verbal and written communications skills with a demonstrated passion for pursuing a career in public relations or a related field.
- Must be a current student attending college/university.
- Must be at least 18 years of age upon start date.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND PROGRAM BENCHMARKS:
- Familiarization with local, regional and national media through research and list building
- Understanding of agency clients through press clipping and reporting
- Participation in client brainstorms
- Draft pitches and press materials under the guidance of supervisors
- Staff special events and interface with attending media
PROGRAM TIMELINE:
The duration of the internship is a minimum of three months and a maximum of six months. We are looking for interns available about 20 hours per week, preferably 2 full days. While this internship is remote, there will be the option to come into the NYC office ever so often.
COMPENSATION:
This is an unpaid internship requiring to receive course/college credit upon successful completion of the internship.
