WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING

We are seeking a strategic and results-driven Director, Publisher Development to oversee the expansion of the Emodo SSP into new publishers in the advertising ecosystem. You will be driving all facets of the sales cycle including prospecting, closing, and relationship management to get our new publisher partners launched and on a path to profitability.

You will partner closely with Operations to ensure that Publishers are committed to integration and motivated to move through testing to generating revenue. You will play a key, cross-functional role at Emodo, educating product, engineering and leadership on supply-side trends and how to increase value for Publishers. You will play a critical role in contributing to the overall growth of the business.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Publisher Growth and Relationship Management
  • Expand publisher footprint across target markets
  • Develop comprehensive understanding of supply-side dynamics
  • Identify and cultivate opportunities with diverse websites and applications
  • Manage end-to-end publisher relationship lifecycle
  • Collaborate closely with Account Management, Publisher Operations, and internal teams
Strategic Business Development
  • Negotiate publisher agreements, including rates and payment terms
  • Drive legal processes for contract execution
  • Manage sales pipeline using CRM systems
  • Advise publishers on revenue generation strategies
  • Communicate industry expertise and emerging opportunities
Performance and Analysis
  • Conduct in-depth market and opportunity analysis
  • Develop and track publisher performance metrics
  • Identify supply requirements and partnership potential
  • Provide data-driven insights to internal stakeholders


Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Bridge communication between departments
  • Operate effectively in global sales team environment
  • Escalate business-critical issues internally and externally
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • Proven track record in managing relationships with publishers (CTV preferable)
  • 4+ years of experience in ad tech, programmatic advertising, or digital media sales
  • 3+ years of strategic partnership development in ad tech
  • Deep understanding of the programmatic ecosystem, including SSPs, DSPs, exchanges, and auction mechanics.
  • Familiar with Expertise in header bidding, RTB, and OpenRTB integrations
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to turn data into actionable insights.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across teams and build strong external partnerships.

Compensation:

The base compensation for this sales role ranges from $150,000 to $165,000, with variable compensation through a performance-based bonus structure.
