Technical Writer Job at SAIC in Hanahan

**Description**

SAIC is seeking a **Technical Writer/Editor** to support the USMC at our **Hanahan, SC** location. This position is 100% on- site.

**Responsibilities:**

+ The Technical Writer will be responsible for updating and maintaining engineering, testing, cybersecurity, and other programmatic documents.

+ The Technical Writer will be responsible for drafting user-friendly content that meets the needs of the intended audience,

+ The Technical Writer will be responsible for maintaining records of those documents in the Configuration Management database, CMPro.

**Qualifications**

**Education Requirements:**

+ Bachelor's degree and zero (0) years' experience; Four (4) years of experience can be considered in lieu of degree

**Clearance Requirements:**

+ Must have the ability to obtain a Secret Security Clearance; US Citizenship required.

**Required Skills:**

+ Write and edit technical and complex ideas and procedures for novice readers.

+ Work with engineers and subject matter experts, observing functional tasks to determine process steps.

+ Possess working knowledge of current MIL-STD regulations for document formatting and grammatical conventions.

+ Skilled knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.

+ Working knowledge of SharePoint and version control using CMPro.

+ Ability to organize materials, write an outline, and then use it to develop comprehensive, well-written documents.

+ Possess command of the English language, especially an expert understanding of voice, address, and syntax.

+ Must live local to the Charleston, SC area with ability to work onsite daily.
