Nationwide IT Services, NIS, is seeking an Expert Technical Writer for a potential opportunity to support our FAA customer.
Location: Remote but must be located within the Washington, DC Metropolitan area or be able to travel, as needed, to attend meetings and perform tasks, such as providing onsite training with a minimum of one day's notice.

Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide support to enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of the Business Management System (BMS).
- Provide technical support for the development and maintenance of BMS processes.
- Perform technical writing, editing, and maintenance of BMS-related documents.
- Evaluate and report BMS program performance and progress.
- Support process reviews and continuous improvement activities. Analyze and report on the quality and timeliness of continuous improvement data. Track and report on the status of open continuous improvement actions.
- Conduct studies and analyses to support decision-making and strategic planning.
- Prepare and submit regular reports on program assessments.
- Assist in developing effective strategies for various programs.
- Manage and coordinate program activities and timelines.
- Conduct process reviews within the BMS following FAA defined formats.
- Generate process review reports detailing findings and opportunities for improvement.
- Collaborate with FAA BMS point of contact (POC) and/or process owners in documenting and facilitating processes.
- Utilize and support the BMS Process Database for tracking and controlling document development and status.
- Ensure that SharePoint sites and web platforms are updated, functional, and user-friendly.
- Facilitate internal communication and information dissemination through effective platform management.
- Transition sites and repositories for non-conformance tracking and resolution.
- Maintain KSN2 and other technologies such as SharePoint Online, PowerBI, and Tableau.
- Coordinate with AIT project managers to transition document archives and maintain current information on sites.
- Ensure the AIT QMS intranet website is up to date with new processes and retired outdated ones.
- Perform semi-annual validations of website content against the process database and report findings.
Qualifications and Special Knowledge Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree and fifteen (15) years of relevant experience or an associate’s degree with a minimum of four (4) additional years of relevant experience
- Bachelor’s degree must be in engineering, math, and/or science.
- When supporting tasks that are Information Technology Systems Architecture, Enterprise Architecture, or Network Analysis/Design/Test, any combination of degree, certification, and relevant experience will be considered if the relevant experience requirement is satisfied.
- FAA clearance/background investigation.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Advanced ability to design and develop Microsoft Products including Office, Project, and SharePoint.
- Excellent writing, editing, drafting, and journaling skills, including the ability to design and create documents and artifacts from notional ideas.
- Conceptual and practical understanding of all project management knowledge areas preferred.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task, manage time effectively, and handle tight deadlines.
- Highly responsive to requested needs.
- Strong communication skills both verbal and written.
- Ability to work with confidential and proprietary information using utmost discretion.
