Job Description
Reporting to the Director of Development Marketing and Communications, the Associate Director supports programs for alumni, donors, and students with marketing and communications. The Associate Director works closely with team leadership and colleagues to define projects and execute strategy within the Division of Development and Alumni Engagement. The Associate Director will create print and digital marketing communications, including visual content development, design and production, publication, and distribution.

Work Environment: Routinely works during the normal scheduled hours of operation for university offices with occasional event support needed after hours or on weekends. Requires work in an office environment and movement between campus buildings.
Salary Grade: 5

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Employment duties include, but are not limited to:
- Design effective marketing materials (e.g. donor proposals, direct mail, postcards, flyers, publications, newsletters) to be used across communication channels, including website, print, social, and email
- Develop and execute marketing ideas to promote events and programs
- Interview and develop rapport with a variety of constituents including donors, faculty, and students to document and curate strong institutional narrative content
- Work closely with the team to execute design needs from content marketing calendars and adhere to deadlines
- Work with print vendors and mail houses to ensure high-quality production and delivery
- Attend university events as needed, both on and off campus
- Help to photograph and video events and assist with other project needs
- Help to create and edit short videos using video software
- Evaluate progress using data analytics and update priorities with direction from the supervisor
- Contribute ideas, input, and support to initiatives, decisions, and communications with marketing and communications implications
- Develop concepts, layouts, and final production files as well as keep accurate and current data information
- Adhere to university brand and style guidelines
- Occasional work outside normal office hours and some travel as needed
- Perform other site and position related duties as assigned

Required Experience
- Bachelor's degree in graphic design or a related field of study required
- Experience and skill in creating print, digital, and social media marketing communications for varied audiences to enhance engagement and brand awareness
Ideal Candidate Qualifications:
- Proficiency in InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop
- Experience with social media platforms and tools for content creating, scheduling, and analytics (e.g. Canva, Hootsuite, Buffer)
