Job Description
The role of the Graphic Account Specialist is to maintain positive relations through active engagement with the customer through all stages of the art and flexo plate process. The Graphic Account Specialist’s responsibilities include communication with the customer and sales staff to ensure the customer design intent is met, providing technical instructions to the Production Artist and Prepress Suppliers while maintaining management of the project to meet the required timeline. The work will support PPC’s ability to produce flexible packaging materials which adheres to company standards and policies relating to quality and cost efficiencies.

- Provide clear and professional communication with customers, sales staff, customer service, scheduling, technical packaging, graphics, prepress, print production and quality assurance teams as it relates to the engineering and assembly of graphic art files and plates for flexographic printing.
- Manage multiple projects in an organized and efficient manner.
- Communicate directly with prepress suppliers as it pertains to projects/orders.
- Create estimates for art, prepress services, and plates.
- Create purchase orders for outsourced art, prepress services, and plates.
- Evaluate art files for assembly and print production. Provide clear instructions for modification of files, conformance to print tolerances for consistent printability.
- Follow instructions, both written and verbal, as it pertains to instructions for graphics and prepress production. Seek to get answers to questions/concerns regarding potential print issues that may be corrected during file preparation to ensure positive outcomes at press.
- Preflight art files for assembly and print production. Provide clear instructions for modification of files, conformance to print tolerances for consistent printability.
- Follow compliance with all quality control procedures to make sure that the files are being processed appropriately for print production. This includes file preparation prior to proofing and plate production.
- Read and understand production order specifications and finished product requirements.
- Works proactively with sales, customer service and scheduling to meet production schedules.
- Receive and post files as needed.
- Determine ink colors to be used prior to production. This includes ordering ink drawdowns as needed.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Detail-oriented, completing required job requirements and information system’s inputs with a high degree of accuracy.
- Strong understanding of graphic requirements for flexographic printing.
- Strong customer service skills including excellent verbal and written communications.
- Willingness and ability to learn new graphic design tools and adapt to new procedures.
- Working knowledge of premedia, mechanical prep, prepress and printing technology.
- Knowledge of Adobe software (Acrobat, Illustrator, and Photoshop) and Windows (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) platforms.
- Read and understand work orders and provide written/verbal direction to Prepress Suppliers for the successful completion of required treatment of files.
- Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment to ensure customer deadlines are met.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Proven experience with effective teams, project management, and continuous improvement methods strongly preferred.
Working Conditions and/or Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to satisfactorily see and differentiate color per adopted assessment methods in order to support efficient print production and print quality.
- Must be able to identify, prioritize, and meet multiple expectations for areas of responsibility.
- Willing to be trained in both specific and non-specific prepress and print production tasks as needed.
