RESPONSIBILITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS:
Role Summary
The Social Media Associate will be a key member of the IBD Global Marketing team, and will work closely with the firmwide Global Marketing group.
This individual will help craft and execute digital playbooks for the investment banking division overall as well as play a key role in managing the executive social presence for certain senior bankers. IBDs social strategy will be primarily focused on LinkedIn, but this individual should have a strong understanding of all major social platforms, with the goal of translating key messaging pillars, passion and personality into a cohesive social media strategy. They will also manage content and editorial calendars for executives and ensure a clear and deliberate cadence of communication.
This role requires the ability to see the big picture while also keeping a close eye on the details. This individual will work in close collaboration with Goldman Sachs social media center of excellence, and liaise with multiple senior stakeholders globally to assist in managing communication flows among internal teams, external agencies, and social platform partners.
Key Responsibilities:
Social Media Management
Assist with the conception, creation and execution of social media posts, including long-form articles for LinkedIn, Twitter, and Instagram posts
Create content, such as capturing images and videos, and crafting copy utilizing relevant hashtags and handles to pair with the respective posts and platforms
Partner with internal teams and external partners (social platforms, agencies, etc.) on content distribution strategy, optimization, and reporting
Determine the appropriate moments to engage with audiences with a keen awareness of the current cultural landscape
Ability to craft compelling copy options that meet various messaging needs
Ability to confidently interact with senior leadership and provide timely feedback/advice
Support day-to-day social media efforts, including real-time social media requests from key internal stakeholders across the Investment Banking Division and the firm as a whole
Fact-check, proofread and gain the needed approvals for real-time social media requests
Strategize on content pipelines and create, curate and maintain content calendars
Create, edit and manage content including photo, video and copy for executives
Manage any necessary translation work
Listening & Reporting
Utilize social platform analytics, and listening tools like Sprinklr and Brandwatch to generate insights
Partner with our team, agencies and vendors to help translate social media data into actionable reports that shape ongoing strategy and lead to optimization
Required Qualifications
Minimum of 4 years of work experience managing social media for brands or publishers
Undergraduate degree in liberal arts or communications, marketing, advertising, public relations, media studies, business and/or related fields
Self-starter with a passion for excellence and creativity
Sophisticated editorial judgment, copywriting skills and attention to detail
Savvy user of essential social media platforms (LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, Instagram)
Familiarity with all forms of social content, video capabilities, ad units, social audio, etc.
Creative mindset, intellectually curious and interested in illuminating the firms thinking in accessible, clever ways
Passion for and experience with managing social media presences and an interest in the latest digital trends
Proactive, team player with strong interpersonal skills
Excellent project management and organizational skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities and thrive in a dynamic fast-paced environment
Preferred Qualifications
Proficient in social media publishing tools
Experience using social media listening tools a plus
Experience leading live audio or video executions on social such as Facebook Live, Twitter Live, Clubhouse, Twitter Spaces and YouTube LiveWorking
Experience in a regulated industry, working closely with Legal & Compliance partners
Understanding of Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign and other graphic design services and/or experience in video production is a plus
