Duties

Essential Functions

* Compiles data from a wide variety of sources (e.g. schools, community groups, Board, staff/departments, etc.) for the purpose of sharing district-wide accomplishments, managing conflict, analyzing issues, ensuring compliance with organization policies and procedures, and/or monitoring program components.

* Consults with appropriate schools and departments on internal/external communication issues and the production of publications and presentation materials (e.g. superintendent, deputy superintendent, other administrators, employees, attorney, etc.) for the purpose of ensuring agency-wide communication is in compliance with stated policies and procedures.

* Develops and implements internal controls, practices, and guidelines (e.g. Communication Plan, FERPA guidelines, etc.) for the purpose of meeting expectations relative to departmental objectives, education code requirements, and board policies in an efficient and timely manner and in accordance with legal requirements.

* Facilitates meetings, workshops, seminars, etc. for the purpose of identifying issues, developing recommendations, supporting other staff, and serving as a District representative.

* Makes departmental budget recommendations, expenditure decisions, and contractual agreements for the purpose of providing direction for meeting the district's goals and objectives.

* Monitors departmental budget allocations, expenditures, fund balances, and related financial activities for the purpose of ensuring allocations are accurate, revenues are recorded, expenses are within budget limits, and/or fiscal practices are followed.

* Oversees assigned program(s) and/or departmental responsibilities (e.g. website, marketing materials, newsletters, etc.) for the purpose of meeting the expectations of the Superintendent and the needs of the District.

* Participates in meetings (e.g. professional associations, networks, workshops, seminars, conferences, etc.) for the purpose of conveying and gathering information regarding a wide variety of subjects required to carry out administrative responsibilities.

* Performs personnel administrative functions (e.g. hiring, evaluating, reduction in force decisions, employee misconduct, training, etc.) for the purpose of maintaining adequate staffing, enhancing the productivity of personnel, and ensuring program/district outcomes are achieved.

* Prepares a wide variety of documents and written or electronic materials (e.g. press releases, newsletters, guidelines, policies, practices, etc.) for the purpose of documenting activities and issues, conveying information, meeting compliance requirements, and/or providing supporting materials.

* Researches a variety of topics (e.g. public policy, education code constraints, labor cases, etc.) for the purpose of ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and established guidelines; securing information for planning; and/or responding to requests.

* Responds to issues and inquiries from school district administrators and educators regarding development, implementation, and evaluation of programs for the purpose of identifying relevant issues and recommending or implementing a plan of action to efficiently resolve the issue.

* Reviews a variety of information (e.g. policy documents, expenditures, contracts, district practices, etc.) for the purpose of assessing impact on district, ensuring departmental vendor compliance with established guidelines, making recommendations, and/or addressing a variety of administrative needs.

* Serves as a liaison between the district and media representatives, community organizations, and the public for the purpose of conveying information, publicizing events, and enhancing the relationship of the district and the community.

Qualifications

Experience:

Job-related experience with increasing levels of responsibility is required.

Education (Minimum):

Bachelors degree in job-related area

Salary/Benefits

Contingent upon experience and commensurate with the district's salary scale and schedule level 5 administrative salary schedule Min $110,387.00-$154,838.00.
