About the Role
The Company is seeking a Senior Counsel with a focus on marketing and advertising to join their legal team. The successful candidate will be responsible for a range of activities, including the structuring, drafting, review, and negotiation of various marketing-related agreements. This role also involves the clearance of content for marketing campaigns and providing legal counsel on a variety of industry-specific marketing issues. The ideal candidate will have a background in entertainment marketing contract drafting and negotiation, with a strong emphasis on intellectual property clearance and related advice. Collaboration with internal teams and external parties is a key aspect of the position, and the role requires a high level of energy, the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, and a proven track record of managing multiple, complex legal transactions. Applicants for this role at the company should have a JD from an ABA-accredited U.S. law school, with at least 6 years of legal experience, including a minimum of 3 years in an entertainment in-house legal department, specifically counseling marketing teams. The role demands a candidate with strong drafting and negotiating skills, the ability to balance legal protections with business needs, and a detail-oriented approach. Superlative communication skills, both oral and written, are essential, as is the ability to proactively collaborate with stakeholders. The ideal candidate will be adept at examining and resolving marketing-related legal issues, and have a curiosity about the entertainment and media landscape, as well as technology. Experience in providing legal advice related to international marketing and a proven ability to work independently with good judgment are also required.
