Travel to school district buildings and professional meetings as required.
Pay Rate
$15.61 per hour.
Work Schedule
7.5 hours per day (Middle School & 6th Grade Academies).
195 days per year (6th Grade and Middle School).

Position Purpose
To provide media services for students, teaching staff and building-level administration in a helpful, positive, congenial and flexible manner.
Essential Job Functions
- Work on projects with the media specialist.
- Work cooperatively with students and staff in a learner-centered environment.
- Balance many tasks while prioritizing and addressing frequent interruptions.
- Be a self-starter and be able to work effectively with minimal supervision.
- Supervise the circulation desk, including the circulation and shelving of materials.
- Assist students with location of appropriate instructional and recreational materials and supervise book exchange.
- Have a working knowledge of computer applications, the library automation system and Dewey Decimal classification.
- Supervise use of media center computers for research. Develop a working knowledge of research databases.
- Be responsible for distributing, operating and troubleshooting audio-visual and other technology equipment.
- Work with media specialist to promote a lifetime appreciation of reading through special promotions and reading aloud to students.
- Check in and process new materials.
- Assist media specialists with bulletin boards and media center displays.
- Assist with other duties as assigned.
