Job Description

Provides support to the Director of Resort Marketing in maintaining the quality and effectiveness of public relations and sponsorships on behalf of Harrah's Resort SoCal. Assists in identifying and reviewing new opportunities that will help broaden brand awareness and create memorable experiences. Uses effective communications to reinforce branded guest, teammate and media experience.

Essential Job Functions:
  • Work closely with the Director of Resort Marketing in the development of marketing plans as they relate to sponsorships and public relations.
  • Assist in the coordination of on-site and offsite events.
  • Seek and evaluate new opportunities for partnerships and sponsorships.
  • Monitor, analyze and report on the success of each event; ability to identify areas of opportunity.
  • Work closely with internal creative team and events team to ensure all deadlines are met; coordinate with external vendors to ensure install projects are completed on time.
  • Schedule event kickoff and recap meetings; create One Sheets and Event Run of Show documents.
  • Respond to inquiries from press, agency partners and internal clients in a timely manner.
  • Coordinate media visits and experiences.
  • Communicate new programming with agency partners in a timely manner.
  • Traffic press releases and changes to and from PR agency.
  • Assist with adhoc requests related to marketing.
Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 2 years experience working within marketing and public relations.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to communicate in a clear and friendly manner.
  • Ability to comprehend and negotiate contracts.
  • Knowledge of finance is preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to think strategically and to identify opportunities.
  • Ability to prioritize and plan effectively.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Motivated to excel in a fast-paced environment.
  • Event planning experience is a plus.
  • College degree preferred.
  • Must be able to work flexible hours.
Physical, Mental & Environmental Demands:
  • Must be able to continuously maneuver around office.
  • Must be able to move quickly around property during events.
  • Must be able to bend, crouch, kneel, twist and work at a desk.
  • Must be able to lift and carry 30 pounds.
  • Respond to visual and oral cues.
  • Must be able to conduct conversations with customers, respond calmly and make rational decisions when handling guest concerns.
  • Must be able to work independently.
  • Must be self-motivated.
  • Able to read, writes speak and understand English.
  • Must have manual dexterity to operate the computer and other necessary office equipment.
  • Must be able to respond calmly and make rational decisions when handling customer's needs.
  • Must be able to tolerate areas containing secondary smoke.


Salary: $65k- $68k, depending on experience.
