The Opportunity
We’re looking for a UX Designer to join our Customer Experience (CX) team for 9 months.
Reporting to the Director, User Experience Design, the UX Designer is responsible for helping to create the next generation of our advisor and investor toolset. You will be core to the design of several integrated systems and will be a key contributor to how our work is presented to the executive and product teams. Your solid understanding of the psychology of interaction and information design will enable you to craft interfaces, prototypes, and presentations that effectively communicate your design team’s vision for the project. This is a hybrid role requiring both UX and UI skills and will work alongside service designers investigating the user journey as well as interface designers crafting the Design System components to support your work. This contract position supports the initial launch period of this product with the potential of ongoing work.
This role is an integral part of the team of UX Designers, UI Designers and UX Writers and is responsible for creating and executing user interface solutions, being an advocate for user-centered design within the company and with our partners, as well as maintaining visual, interactive and brand continuity.

What your day looks like:
- Design leadership for the experience, interaction design, and user interface for a set of products in close collaboration with stakeholders, the business, and the delivery team
- Identify, analyze, and perform user research and data analysis to clarify opportunities and uncover issues, and set target metrics which provide user and business value
- Develop conceptual diagrams, task flows, information architecture, wireframes and interaction design specs to ensure the user’s needs are being met across all stages of the customer journey
- Conduct competitive analysis and stay up to date on industry standards to leverage best practices and innovate new potential for our customers
- Create user interface screens, components, and solutions for B2B2C web platform, leveraging our design system as a part of a multidisciplinary team
- Craft and maintain up-to-date interactive prototypes that represents the current state of the design for presentation at an executive level
- Develop components, mocks, and prototypes that can be usability tested and analyzed to formulate a clear rationale behind design decisions
- Consolidate the prevailing design knowledge into effective communication presentations and design specifications to align stakeholders and guide development teams
- Advocate for user-centered design within the organization, demonstrate the value and ROI of UX, and mentor other designers
Requirements
Your experience and skills:
- 5 - 7 years of design experience as a key member of a product delivery team is required
- Ability to articulate a clear rationale for all design decisions that unites an exceptional knowledge of UX/UI principles with user needs and business value is required
- Strong stakeholder relationship management and excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present information to diverse audiences is required
- Exceptional skills with Figma and Miro or similar tools is required
- Experience creating and evaluating usability tests is required
- Awareness of accessibility, WCAG, AODA, AMA, as well as contemporary inclusive design standards is required
- Self-starter who can work both independently to own the design requirements of a set of products and collaboratively as part of a team is required
- An online portfolio of previous and current professional work demonstrating various successful projects and the impact you’ve personally made is required
- Familiarity with the investment or financial services industries is an asset
- Undergraduate degree in UX, Human Computer Interaction or Graphic/Digital Design is an asset
- Fluent communication skills in English are required and bilingual skills in French are an asset

Salary
This position is posted with an expected salary range of $60 - $83 CAD hourly. Individual compensation packages are based on various factors unique to each candidate and the requirements of the position.
