About the Role

The Company is seeking an Executive Director of Marketing and Communications to oversee and direct all internal and external communications. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a team and creating and implementing communication strategies that effectively inform the public about the organization's work. This role involves partnering with staff and external agencies to promote key storylines, developing and executing media relations plans, and actively engaging with local and regional media to ensure the organization's message is well-received. The Executive Director will also be involved in supporting media relations efforts, creating and organizing various communication materials, and acting as a strategic communications advisor to management. Applicants for the Executive Director position at the company should have a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or a combination of experience in communications, marketing, and journalism. The role requires a minimum of 2 years experience as the primary communications lead for an organization or a total of 7 years in communications and/or marketing, with at least 3 years as a journalist in a major media market. The ideal candidate will have strong writing, editing, and communication skills, the ability to manage multiple tasks, and a detail-oriented, professional, and creative approach to their work. Proficiency in Microsoft Office is essential, and experience supervising a team and bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish are preferred.
