Squaremouth is looking for a Manager of Public Relations & Social Strategy to join its Marketing team. In this role, you are expected to become an expert in our business and vertical to grow Squaremouth’s public image as an innovative company and travel insurance industry leader. The Manager of Public Relations & Social Strategy should be capable of developing and implementing strategic external communications with key media contacts, including but not limited to media pitches, press releases, and interviews. Social strategy capabilities include creating and executing our social media strategy to promote the brand and increase customer awareness with an emphasis on content creation, trend analysis, influencer management, and metric monitoring. They must possess exceptional written and verbal communication skills. They should be able to actively identify topics and events that are topical and newsworthy and should be able to meet strict deadlines to capitalize on media opportunities. Responsibilities Identify key public relations contacts and opportunities Secure media placement in trade and business publications Ability to interact successfully, build relationships, and influence national and local media representatives, reporters and editors Build out editorial content strategies based on industry events and consumer trends Research, draft, distribute, and pitch content to key media targets Execute frequent, engaging press releases, from concept to completion Act as company representative, with the ability to speak confidently and informatively to media Ability to communicate concisely and translate complicated topics into lay language Strong special media experience with a creative eye for creating brand initiatives and campaigns on all social media platforms. Strong writing skills, ranging from technical to creative writing Ability to analyze and report on results, and establish improvements Self-motivated individual with the ability to work autonomously, without close supervision, while maintaining our team approach Keep a constant pulse on current events and industry changes that impact business, with the ability to develop relevant and newsworthy content Qualifications 5+ years in PR, marketing, agency, or relevant experience required Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, or equivalent 3+ years of social media management experience including video production and editing experience Experience using Cision, Meltwater, WordPress, Excel, Figma and social scheduling apps a plus.
