? Who you are?

The Director, Content Marketing & SEO is a pivotal role responsible for creating and driving our full content strategy. This position requires an individual with strong experience in both content management and SEO in addition to a strong comfort with data. We're looking for a strategic problem solver who is data-driven, pragmatic, and process-driven. You should be ready and excited to be a hands-on operator, executing tactically as well as strategically.

The Director will manage contracted content writers and other contractors, ensuring their efforts support the larger content and SEO vision. Tactically, this means owning keyword research, building a pipeline of relevant content ideas, and setting up our writers for success. This also means reviewing / copyediting content, posting content, and tracking results.

As critical as tactical execution is a a willingness to experiment with AI and other novel data-centric content strategies. We have a strong hypothesis that this individual will be able to have an outsized impact on the business via savvy adoption of new tools and techniques. We're looking for a curious, driven tinkerer - excited to design and run content / SEO experiments before formalizing long-term programs around the most successful ones.

What You'll Do:
  • Develop content strategies to further our position as thought leaders in the permitting space, making strategic decisions around channel, format, content, and more
  • Own our SEO and website strategy, including keyword research, site architecture, and metrics tracking (incl. pipeline growth)
  • Work with demand generation to identify and create content pieces serving the full marketing funnel, different personas, and campaigns
  • Experiment with new content formats and channels (ex. webinars, customer interviews, video testimonials)
  • Experiment and incorporate new technology and methodologies into our content and SEO programs, such as generative AI and programmatic SEO
  • Create and develop our brand voice in such a way that our ICP and broader addressable market trust PermitFlow as a thought leader and source of truth
  • Build and drive our content engine, creating a process for consistently producing high-quality content pieces (likely involving a small group of freelance writers and contractors)
  • Act as a copyeditor and reviewer to ensure high quality of external-facing communications
  • Communicate with sales and other departments to identity new content requirements, developing and executing on content in support of key campaigns and channels
  • Stay apprised of the latest content marketing and SEO tactics and approaches to ensure our marketing remains fresh and ahead of the competition
  • Report on key content and SEO metrics to track performance and identify opportunities to improve
Qualifications & Fit:
  • Professional Background: 3+ years of experience supporting content and inbound strategies for B2B SaaS companies.
  • Curiosity: Both SEO and Content are iterative programs. We're looking for someone creative, proactive, and curious - excited to experiment and push boundaries.
  • Strong quant inclination: You can't improve what you can't measure. You love numbers, and you're very comfortable in data tools.
  • Strong communicator: Driven to "cut through the noise" with thoughtful, memorable and differentiating messages.

  • NYC Based: This role is a hybrid role, with in-person required Monday, Wednesday, and Friday in our Manhattan office.
