The General Editor on Audience Engagement’s Streaming team will be primarily responsible for the daily execution of ESPN’s streaming strategy and vision on owned and third-party platforms. General Editors will work with internal leadership and partners to optimize fan experience and engagement through all of ESPN’s digital streaming touchpoints. Must possess strong editorial judgement, the ability to identify on-platform issues, and understand appropriate troubleshooting steps in real-time. The preferred location for this role is CT but open to California. Responsibilities: General Editor will execute day-to-day responsibilities. Including artwork creation and management, communication of daily priorities to the broader team, and quality control and assurance of on-platform content presentation. Subject matter expert on both owned and select third party platforms where ESPN content is available for both authenticated and unauthenticated users. Coordinate implementation of custom presentations and promotional assets for tentpole events. Assist leadership in both short-term and long-range planning, including promotion and prioritization of key properties and airings. Qualifications: Minimum of 3 years’ experience in sports digital media/and or marketing General Photoshop skills Experience working with a variety of digital content management systems Great planning and organizational skills Experience troubleshooting and real-time quality control/assurance in a live environment Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, handling multiple and varied tasks Strong sports knowledge relating to teams, players and storylines Preferred Qualifications: Experience in online media content presentation. Applicants must have the ability to work in a rapidly changing online environment and possess excellent editorial judgement. Sports takes place on nights, weekends and holidays – and those shifts will be regular and required. Required Education: High School Diploma Preferred Education: A B.S./B.A. degree in communication arts, journalism or new media or equivalent combination of education experience. ESPNMedia The hiring range for this position in Los Angeles, CA is $70,930 to $95,150 per year based on a 40-hour work week. The amount of hours scheduled per week may vary based on business needs. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
