The Emergency Communications Specialist will be responsible for:

  1. Effectively receiving clinical information from healthcare providers.
  2. Identifying and triaging referrals for critically ill and injured patients.
  3. Appropriately documenting relevant information in hospital databases.
  4. Departmental committee involvement, attendance at regular meetings, ongoing education, and other related administrative responsibilities as necessary.
  5. Having the ability to be versatile and handle multiple crises at once while maintaining composure and efficiency.
  6. 36hrs rotating day/nights and weekends.

To qualify, you must have:

  1. Minimum 2 years of administrative-based experience with a high degree of accountability are strongly preferred.
  2. Knowledge of medical terminology through work experience and/or training required.
  3. Flexibility of schedule, comfort in taking direction from several different vantage points, and superior customer service skills with attention to detail.
  4. Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
  5. Dispatch operations and/or EMT experience preferred.
  6. Good communication skills.
  7. Hospital and/or healthcare triage based experience also strongly preferred.
  8. The ability to work on a team.

*Sign-on bonus of $2,500.00 for those who have not worked at BCH in the past 2 years.
